Today we celebrated a major milestone for the Central Coast with the launch of Ausgrid's largest community battery at Peats Ridge. Ausgrid CEO Marc England joined Federal Member for Robertson Dr Gordan Reid MP at the site to mark this important step toward delivering cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable energy for thousands of households. This project, supported by Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) funding and delivered in partnership with leading retailers, is part of our Energy Storage as a Service (ESaaS) initiative – enabling communities to access shared battery storage without the upfront cost, while improving grid stability and integrating more renewable energy. Thank you to all our partners and stakeholders who are helping make this vision a reality. We’ve introduced our first two battery-powered Nifty-Lift 16m EWPs at Oatley and Artarmon depots as part of a four-vehicle trial. This trial is designed to: 🔹 Cut emissions and fuel use 🔹 Enhance safety and comfort for crews 🔹 Reduce noise for customers during night works The battery-powered PTO operates stabilisers and booms without running the engine, delivering a quieter, cleaner work environment. Each unit can complete up to two shifts on battery alone, with automatic diesel backup and dedicated charging stations at trial depots. Another step toward a greener network and better customer experience. Watch the demo video below! #EnergyTransition #Innovation #CustomerExperience #Ausgrid

At Ausgrid, we value the time we spend with our Customer Consultative Committee (CCC), our peak customer advisory group. This week, we welcomed the CCC to our Newcastle offices for a unique opportunity to connect with customers through our contact centre team. They also heard from our HCC REZ project’s Land & Property team, who shared their experiences and learnings from engaging with landowners. Their involvement in our business and advice on customer perspectives and considerations is critical to our decision making and improving customer outcomes in the communities we serve. In our meeting we cover topics such as ✅ Key project milestones ✅ Newly launched Distributed Service Plan and how collaboration with the other NSW DNSPs was being well received by the industry in unlocking renewable energy opportunities ✅ Early planning and considerations for customer engagement for our next regulatory proposal Being transparent and accountable with our CCC is how we create a smarter, more sustainable energy future for our communities. International Men’s Day isn’t just about celebrating men, it’s about recognising the bonds that keep us strong. At Ausgrid, mateship is more than friendship; it’s looking out for each other, speaking up, and making sure everyone stays safe working on our network. This year’s theme, Supporting Men and Boys, reminds us that safety starts with connection. When we check in on our mates, on the job or off, we create a culture where wellbeing comes first. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Mark Hughes for sharing his powerful story of resilience and purpose. His message to Make Today Count is a reminder that together, we can build an environment where mateship and safety go hand in hand. #InternationalMensDay #MateshipMatters #SupportingMenAndBoys #AusgridCulture #SafetyFirst

Unlocking billions in value and creating a critical buffer for NSW’s clean energy transition – that’s the promise of the NSW Distribution System Plan (DSP). For the first time, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy (NSW) and Essential Energy have developed a unified roadmap to optimise the state’s distribution networks. By using existing assets in the sub-transmission network to connect renewables and coordinating local rooftop solar, batteries and electric vehicles, the DSP shows how we can: ✅Put downward pressure on customer bills ✅Accelerate decarbonisation ✅Buy up to five years of breathing room while transmission infrastructure is built. Last week we gave key industry leaders across Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), Australian Energy Regulator, Energy Consumers Australia, Transgrid and NSW Government an early insight into what is possible if we turn today’s grid into a dynamic, flexible platform that supports communities and delivers a fair, sustainable energy future for NSW. We are looking forward to continuing to have an open conversation about what is needed to make this a reality. 📘 Explore the DSP Opportunities Report here: www.nsw-dsp.com.au #EnergyTransition #NetZero #Innovation #Ausgrid #CleanEnergyFuture

Hunter Simba Soccer Club in Newcastle is a community-led team that brings people together through sport, inclusion and opportunity. It’s a place where players of all ages and backgrounds can build confidence, develop skills and feel part of something bigger. With support from Ausgrid’s Grants for Good program, the club was able to purchase portable goalposts and fund a coaching diploma for one of its senior members – strengthening both its youth and senior teams and creating long-term benefits for the local area. This is the kind of impact that happens when people take the initiative to support causes close to their hearts. 📣 Applications for the 2026 round are now open. If you have a community or electrification project in mind, now’s the time to apply. 🔗 ausgrid.com.au/grants #Ausgrid #GrantsForGood #CommunityImpact

Today Ausgrid proudly launched the Merriwa Microgrid - a first-of-its-kind solution designed to keep the town’s most essential services powered if the grid goes down. From the pharmacy to grocery store and the RSL Club, the microgrid ensures there are always places in Merriwa where the lights stay on, the fridges stay cold, and the community can come together safely during times of need. A big thank you to Merriwa residents and local businesses for sharing your feedback! Your input helped shape the microgrid to provide power to the essential services the community relies on. This project is part of our Future Grid strategy, focused on building a smarter, more resilient network - especially in areas that need it most. #FutureGrid #EnergyResilience #Microgrid #Ausgrid #Merriwa
