Safer borders, stronger supply chains, and better access to essential goods for all Australians. 🤝 The National Committee on Trade Facilitation (NCTF) met last week at ABF HQ to advance a unified trade and economic agenda, continuing work from Treasurer’s Economic Reform Roundtable. Discussions focused on enhancing early risk detection to disrupt illegitimate trade and exploring pathways to modernise the Integrated Cargo System, with a focus on speed and security at Australia’s seaports and airports. Members reaffirmed their commitment to working together, progressing trade-modernisation using the regulatory sandbox and supporting a fully digital trade environment to deliver faster, more predictable processes and reduce regulation, and strengthen engagement on future reforms.
Australian Border Force
Law Enforcement
To protect Australia’s border and enable legitimate travel and trade.
About us
The Australian Border Force is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency. The border is our greatest national asset and so the ABF works with domestic and international partners to combat a wide range of threats while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. We are responsible for border operations on water and across land and sea ports, investigations, compliance, immigration enforcement functions and managing detention facilities. We also continue to be Australia's customs service, a function which makes us the Commonwealth's second largest revenue raiser and therefore vital to Australia's economic prosperity.

Four men, including the chief officer of an international livestock carrier, have been charged over their alleged roles in an organised crime plot to import more than 525kg of cocaine into Western Australia. The cocaine was allegedly dropped into the ocean from an international livestock carrier on its way to Fremantle Harbour. This is a result of the tireless work of a Western Australia Joint Organised Crime Taskforce (WA JOCTF) investigation, in partnership with WA Police Force, Australian Federal Police, Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, AUSTRAC and ABF. For the full details of the seizure and arrests, visit http://spr.ly/60417oATR
