Before you go on your next holiday or business trip, don't forget to turn off your Wi-Fi router. Switching off your router prevents unauthorised access to your network, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Most routers have a power button on the top or back of the device. Alternatively, you can turn off the device at the wall outlet. Before switching off your router, make sure to check if any devices need the internet to work, such as security cameras.

Think twice before you post. Oversharing online can put you - and your workplace - at risk. Social media is a powerful tool for connection and communication, but sharing too much personal or professional information can expose both individuals and organisations to serious risks. Why it matters: Cybercriminals are looking for publicly shared details – like job titles, office locations, project updates, or internal processes – to target organisations. They can target employees through phishing or impersonation scams, or exploit company information for fraud. Even well-meaning posts can unintentionally reveal sensitive information. To protect yourself and your organisation: ✔️ Avoid posting internal updates, client details, or anything not meant for public view. ✔️ Review privacy settings on personal and professional accounts. ✔️ Be cautious with connections. Don’t accept requests from unknown individuals. ✔️ Report suspicious messages or activity to your IT or security team.
