Exciting times ahead for Corio and the wider Geelong region. The long-awaited redevelopment of Stead Park is officially moving forward thanks to the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program. And Fairbrother is set to deliver this state-of-the-art hockey facility by late 2026! This major upgrade includes: • a brand new two-storey pavilion (between the venue’s 2 hockey pitches) • a redeveloped western pitch including fencing • an electronic scoreboard and 500 lux LED sports lighting, and • extra parking and spectator seating. These improvements will ensure equal access for all players, including women and girls, and elevate Stead Park to a venue capable of hosting state and national-level events. With player numbers already rising – from 655 to over 830 in just a year – this is a huge step forward for the future of hockey in the region.

Fairbrother has delivered the new Early Learning Centre at Mount Carmel College — a thoughtfully designed space that supports early years education and future enrolments through to Year 12. This 340m² facility features: ✨ Exposed timber beams and ply wall linings 🪵 Clear-finished Tasmanian Oak windows and doors 🧱 Recycled red bricks from the original site 🌿 A nature-inspired outdoor play space with a gravity-fed river From demolition to landscaping, our team managed every detail — all within a live school environment. Fairbrother and Ryan Wiggins’ RW11 were proud to team up once again as match day ball sponsors for Relive the Rivalry— not just to support the game, but to spotlight a powerful cause. Together, we're raising awareness around spinal cord injuries, which can happen to anyone, at any time. Ryan Wiggins, an ambassador for the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation, sustained a C2 spinal cord injury in 2021. The Foundation is helping drive momentum as they prepare to launch human trials in Australia — a major step towards finding a cure. Fairbrother is proud to support OneCare and Tasmanian aged care residents as they take part in the ‘Road Worlds for Seniors’ for the first time! Thanks to the Fairbrother Foundation’s donation of two Motiview bikes, aged care residents across Tasmania are now cycling through virtual landscapes, building strength, connection, and joy — all from the comfort of their armchairs. We’re thrilled to help bring healthy movement and social engagement to residents in our community. Construction Begins on the Devonport Oval Sports Complex! A major milestone has been reached as work officially begins on the $60 million Devonport Oval Sports Complex. This state-of-the-art precinct will feature: 🏀 A three-court indoor community hall 🏟️ A three-court show hall for high-level competition 🎾 Outdoor courts and recreation spaces 🏢 Multi-club social and admin facilities 🏏 Cricket and high-performance training facilities 🚗 Car parking and landscaped surrounds This generational infrastructure project presents a fantastic opportunity for our employees and subcontractors to help shape a landmark precinct for Devonport - building something we can all be proud of for decades to come. Completion is expected in 2027, further strengthening Fairbrother’s commitment to creating opportunities and supporting the communities in which we work.

🔨 "What does a builder have to do with planning?" At the 2025 PIA TAS State Planning Conference, Fairbrother's Design Manager, Chris Jacobson, challenged this very question. Chris highlighted how builders are now engaged earlier than ever—right from concept to delivery—and how planning is no longer a standalone phase but a thread woven through the entire project lifecycle. The message was clear: Shared ground means shared responsibility—and better outcomes.

Cassandra’s Apprenticeship Journey Meet Cassandra, one of our apprentice carpenters at Fairbrother. She once dreamed of becoming an electrical mechanical engineer, but after trying work experience with us, she discovered a new path—and never looked back. Despite initial doubts, Cassandra embraced the opportunity, learned new skills, built lasting friendships, and is now working toward a leadership role in the company. “The opportunity to work as an apprentice at Fairbrother was too good to pass up,” said Cassandra. Award Win Announcement! On Friday night, the Fairbrother team proudly attended the Master Builders Excellence in Construction Awards at the Crown Casino Palladium Room — a night dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements across our industry. We’re thrilled to share that Fairbrother has been awarded Best Civil Project in Victoria over $50 million for the Werribee Open Range Zoo Elephant Enclosure! This award is a testament to the dedication, skill, and teamwork of everyone involved — from design through to delivery — in creating a world-class habitat that will benefit both the elephants and the community for generations to come.
