The latest major construction milestone has been reached at Ormond Road in East Geelong. Construction crews have now reached the "topping out" stage. Topping out means the main structures of all the buildings are in place and the project is ready to move to the fitting out of homes stage. The Big Housing Build project will build 54 energy efficient and environmentally sustainable homes, replacing 18 social homes which were demolished in 2023. The new homes are expected to be completed mid-2026 creating more access to higher quality social housing for the Geelong East community. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gpfrHZ_N

49 new social homes for older women and families in Footscray ✨ Summerhill Village has been redeveloped into a purpose-built social housing community, designed in collaboration with residents, United Housing Co-op, and the Lions Club of Footscray. The transformation delivers modern, energy-efficient homes, alongside community gardens and an orchard. These are spaces that foster connection, security, and belonging. Milestone moment at Banksia Gardens! Concrete is now being poured at the Broadmeadows site. This is a major step towards building 120 new social homes 🚧 The project is funded by both the Australian Government and the Victorian Government. It will bring two new apartment buildings, shared open spaces, safe walking and bike paths, and a fresh new look for Banksia Gardens. The building structures will be completed over the coming months, with the project due for completion in 2026. These homes will be for people on the Victorian Housing Register.
