A positive body image helps young people to feel good about themselves and supports mental health and wellbeing, but the world we live in today can sometimes make that hard.
While it might not always feel like it, particularly during adolescence parents can have a really positive influence on the way a child thinks, feels and behaves when it comes to their body and appearance.
BodyKind Families provides information and resources to help parents connect with their teen and support positive body image and eating and exercise behaviours and create a home which is kind to all bodies.
A 1.5-hour seminar for parents/carers on practical strategies for supporting positive body image in teens.
Free body image resources and activities for families of teenagers available all year round!
Body image issues and eating disorders can occur in any family, anywhere, and the reasons why are very complex. If you are concerned that your child may be developing or experiencing serious body image and eating issues, it is important to trust your instincts, learn more and if you suspect an eating disorder is developing, to seek help as soon as possible.
