In late 2024, we released Navigating the Waters of Change, a landmark report outlining ten Future Ready® strategies for a water-constrained world. Based on interviews with 30 water utilities across the globe, it offered a blueprint for tackling water scarcity through innovation, collaboration, and long-term thinking. One year later, we asked David Symons, our Future Ready® Global Director and the report’s author, to reflect on what’s changed, what’s working - and what’s next. This year, three teams of 30 dedicated WSP volunteers are continuing our longstanding partnership with Bridges to Prosperity, building trail bridges in some of Rwanda’s most isolated regions. They will support three builds, including the Nyiravugiza Suspension Bridge which will span 101 meters across the Ruhoga River, providing safe, year-round access for over 3,000 local residents. For surrounding communities, these bridges mean reliable access to school, healthcare, and markets—empowering families and unlocking new opportunities.
