‼️ History Made: The First-Ever CDR Pavilion at a COP ‼️ In partnership with the Negative Emissions Platform and the nearly 90 organizations behind CDR30, we’re thrilled to announce a milestone moment — the first-ever Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Pavilion has been secured in the Blue Zone at COP30 in Belém, Brazil this November 2025. For the first time, carbon removal will have a physical home at the centre of international climate negotiations, a place to: 🔶 Put CDR firmly on the political stage where climate ambition, finance, and policy converge. 🔶 Connect investors and decision-makers directly with solution providers. 🔶 Showcase technologies through live demonstrations and immersive experiences. 🔶 Anchor a global alliance committed to scaling removals responsibly and credibly. Chris Sherwood, Secretary-General of the Negative Emissions Platform: "COP30 is the moment carbon removals step fully onto the world stage. With this pavilion, we are making history. For the first time, governments, investors and civil society will have a dedicated space to see, understand and engage with carbon removals as part of the toolkit humanity cannot afford to ignore." 🔑 The Pavilion is secured - now we need your support to deliver it at the scale this moment deserves. The coalition has already raised $200,000 of the $500,000 target. Sponsors and funders: to back the Pavilion and access the partner deck, email cdr30@negative-emissions.org This is a turning point for carbon removals at the global level. 🤝 Join us in making it count.

Exciting news: InPlanet is now deploying Everest Carbon sensors as part of its Enhanced Rock Weathering delivery to Milkywire! InPlanet has been a true leader in Enhanced Rock Weathering, registering the first-ever certified credits on Isometric and receiving the first ERW A rating from BeZero Carbon. Their work in Brazil, scaling field trials in citrus orchards, advancing MRV, and linking ERW to soil health and yields is at the frontier of durable and equitable climate solutions We’re incredibly proud to be part of this project with InPlanet, supporting their path towards gigaton-scale carbon removal. Felix, Christina, Philipp, Marcella—thank you for your leadership and trust. It's been a pleasure working together on this project, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. 👏 Big thanks as well to Robert Höglund and the Milkywire team for championing science-driven, integrity-first carbon removal. Onwards 🌍 #CarbonRemoval #MRV #ERW #ClimateAction #NetZero #SoilHealth #ScienceBased #Sustainability

🔥🇩🇪 BREAKING: German government sets up dedicated CDR Department 🇩🇪🔥 😮 Today, the government officially finalised its ministerial set-up. Big news for carbon removal: for the first time, CDR will get a dedicated sub-department within the Ministry for the Environment (BMUKN). 💶 This makes perfect sense, given the almost €500m the government intends to spend on CDR, starting with €150m in 2026 (note: the Cabinet approved this budget on Wednesday. It now rests with the legislative process in the fall). 📈 Within the BMUKN there will also be a sub-department focused on emissions trading, a clear sign that the government sees a central role for regulated carbon markets within national and European climate policy. 💡 Interestingly, carbon capture and storage will reside within the Ministry of Economic Affairs (BMWE). It is also still unclear how CCS will be managed and whether it will receive its own department. 🤩 Cannot wait to see who will be placed in and recruited for this CDR team. Yet another sign that the current government is planning to take CDR seriously. We at the Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) are ready to support this department and its work. 👉 Want to stay informed with all the important CDR developments in Germany and beyond?
