📣 We’re proud to announce a major milestone: more than 250 CONDOR Mk3 optical communications terminals have now been delivered to our customers. These include terminals supporting the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), as well as units enabling global demonstration missions. ❓ Why does this matter ❓ Optical communications is rapidly becoming a foundational technology for next-generation satellite constellations. With ultra-high throughput, low probability of intercept, and minimal size, weight, and power requirements, optical communications terminals enable satellites to move massive volumes of data—fast, securely, and reliably. As the space domain evolves, we are still only scratching the surface of what optical communications will unlock. Mynaric produces the optical fiber for the skies and enables as a pioneer of laser communication extremely fast and secure wireless data transmission between aircraft, drones and satellites. Globally, the need for fast and ubiquitous network connectivity is advancing inexorably. Data networks such as the internet are now largely based on infrastructure on the ground which cannot be expanded arbitrarily for legal, economic or logistical reasons. The future, therefore, calls for an expansion of the existing network infrastructure into air and space. Here, large technology companies are building an "internet above the clouds" consisting of hundreds or thousands of flight platforms or satellites that will bring affordable connectivity to the 3 billion unconnected people and securely link billions of devices around the globe. To make these ideas come true, Mynaric provides laser communication products to realize the necessary data highways for telecommunication constellations in air and space.

An honour to have headed to Germany to meet with the team at Mynaric; an innovative leader in laser communications. Through the production of optical communications terminals, they’re helping to drive the technological revolution for connectivity that’s ultra-fast and secure, and across long distances between land, air, and space. In their vision to eliminate the barriers of connectivity, and connect the world, the team spoke of what makes their work a game changer: a strong focus on scalability; cost reduction; interoperability and reliability. They’re key ingredients to the success of one of our key projects – the High thRoughput Optical Network (HydRON); an advanced laser-based satellite system with a terabit-per-second capacity that will dramatically increase the speed and resilience of space-based communications from multi-orbit. I’m delighted that Mynaric is contributing expertise to the project, particularly by supplying advanced optical communication terminals. I extensively thank the Mynaric team for the warm welcome and discussions, it’s through our collaboration that we will maintain Europe and Canada as global leaders in satellite communications, while growing cooperation with international partners. 🚀 Exploring the future of military communications: CONDOR Mk3 Terminal on Display at German Space Command As laser communications technologies continue to gain momentum within the defense sector, we are proud to provide a CONDOR Mk3 optical communications terminal as an exhibit to the German Space Command. This model of our flagship space terminal now proudly stands on display at Space Command headquarters, where it serves as a tangible example of the future of secure, high-speed data transfer from space to ground. With increasing demand for resilient, fast, and interference-free communications, laser communications has a growing strategic relevance in modern defense operations and national security. We had valuable discussions with the Bundeswehr about the critical role laser communications will play in enabling secure, sovereign communications infrastructure for Germany and Europe.
