Final stop on the Passive House on Tour 2025! On 10 November, the final workshops of the #PHOT25 event series took place in the brand-new Baesweiler Town Hall. The focus of this stop: efficient, economical, and future-ready municipal buildings. More than 33 participants, including 20 representatives from local authorities, attended to learn about Baesweiler’s planning strategy for the energy-efficient renovation of municipal buildings. Three standout projects were showcased: 🏫 An award-winning school modernised to #PassiveHouse standards 🏊 A comprehensive energy-efficient retrofit of the indoor swimming pool 🏛️ The newly inaugurated multifunctional Passive House town hall, Bürger-Mitte-Baesweiler A highlight of the day was the official certificate handover by Tanja Schulz from the Passive House Institute to the Mayor of Baesweiler. Eight experts involved in these projects shared their insights and expertise, and participants had the chance to experience the results firsthand during guided tours. Passive House Visits: 14 tours, 7 homes, 1 day that made a difference! The third day of the 13th Passivhaus Portugal Conference took participants into the field to experience firsthand what had been discussed during the previous two days: the real-world performance of well-built Passive Houses. A total of 14 visits to 7 certified #PassiveHouses were carried out, guided by the respective Passive House Designers, who shared insights into the projects, construction solutions, and day-to-day user experience. For many participants, this was an opportunity to feel the thermal comfort, silence, indoor air quality, and stability that define these buildings. Between technical explanations, Q&A moments, and direct observation of the applied solutions, this third day reinforced the importance of connecting theory with practice and showed why the Passive House standard continues to gain ground in construction in Portugal.
