Time to celebrate: We’ve reached 1 GW of installed capacity for our RWE solar portfolio in Europe and Australia. ☀️ The achievement is the result of exceptional collaboration, dedication, and expertise across our teams – from development and engineering to construction, operations, procurement, HSE, and support. A big thank you to everyone from #TeamRWE who made this possible. What a great milestone towards the end of the year. I'm very proud of what we’ve built together so far and am excited for what’s next.

RWE has reached another major milestone in the United States with the commissioning of Stoneridge Solar, a 200 MW solar generation capacity and 100 MW / 200 MWh battery storage facility in Milam County, Texas. The project expands the strength and resilience of the Texas grid by adding homegrown, cost-competitive power at a time of rapidly growing demand. It also reflects the role that local partnership plays in accelerating the energy transition across the U.S. Stoneridge Solar created more than 200 construction jobs, supports long-term operations roles, and is expected to generate millions in tax revenue for Milam County and the Thorndale Independent School District. These benefits translate directly into community support — from educational initiatives to local first responders. With this project online, RWE’s operational capacity in the U.S. surpasses 11 GW, reinforcing our commitment to deliver reliable, affordable, and innovative energy solutions for businesses and communities.

Green light for our new partnership with Apollo Global Management, Inc.: In less than three months, we successfully completed the transaction to establish a joint venture over RWE’s stake in Amprion GmbH, securing future funding for investments in the German transmission grid. All necessary regulatory approvals have already been granted. Apollo provided €3.2 billion in equity, which RWE and Apollo will jointly invest in Amprion. RWE retains operational control and management over the joint venture. Amprion plays a key role supplying electricity to the country’s economic heartland, serving approximately 29 million people. The new investments in grid expansion will enhance critical infrastructure and support Germany’s energy transition. Huge congratulations to the project teams for establishing this partnership at such a remarkable pace! It’s a win on all fronts: for RWE, Apollo, and Amprion, and above all for the essential energy infrastructure.

Don’t install in winter, they say ☝️. But the first snow is already adding its sparkle for the upcoming "wedding at sea" ❄️. At the end of last week, we also completed installation of the foundations for the two offshore substations for our offshore wind farm Nordseecluster A, which are now ready for topside installation. For this, a jacket foundation including four piles, and one transition piece were the ingredients needed for each of the offshore platforms. They were loaded at the port of Rotterdam and made their 18-hour journey to the construction site. Transporting and installing the components, which weigh over 2,000 tonnes, required nothing less than the world's largest semi-submersible crane vessel – the Sleipnir from Heerema Marine Contractors. With a crew of almost 290, the installation work was completed quickly. With this project step, all the foundations required for NSC A are now in place. What happens next? The two substation topsides will follow in 2026. This construction step is literally called a "wedding at sea". In addition, preparatory soil investigations are underway for the laying of internal cabling for the wind farm. The approximately 70 kilometres of cable are to be laid at the beginning of next year. Installation of the 44 wind turbines is scheduled to begin in summer 2026. My sincere thanks to #TeamRWE and everyone involved. Let's move on to the next milestones.

Germany’s biggest stadium just got an upgrade! 🏟️ We’ve installed over 11,000 solar modules on the roof of SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, home of Borussia Dortmund. This PV system offers a capacity of over 5 MW - a world record as the most powerful photovoltaic installation ever built on a stadium roof. ⚡️ A complementary battery storage system with a capacity of 3.7 MWh will be completed in early 2026. Covering around half of the stadium’s electricity needs, this partnership not only promotes sustainability but also drives the energy transition in professional sports.

From five to three: We’ve just started repowering our onshore wind farm in Calle, Lower Saxony. The three new turbines will have a combined capacity of over 17 MW – almost twice as much as before. Dismantling of the old turbines is already underway, and the new ones are set to go into operation by the end of 2026. But repowering is only part of what makes this project truly sustainable. We’re reusing the concrete from the old foundations to build the access roads for the new wind farm. One of the existing towers will even find a new home in another project, while the remaining materials will be recycled appropriately. From orchards and hedgerows to woodland areas – we’re preserving all current ecological compensation zones and adding new biodiversity measures, such as flowering strips. All of this is bringing us closer to making renewable energy not only more powerful, but also more resource-efficient. ♻️
