Key lessons of my Tool check at IP Service World When choosing a patent intelligence tool, you must check three essential areas: Data, Search Features, and Support. My recent presentation showed that the biggest risks—and sources of hidden costs—come from failing in any one of these areas. The Hidden Money Traps: * Trap 1: Bad Data Means Legal Trouble (The Blind Search) If your system misses critical information—like latest patents or accurate translations—your clearance search is flawed. The hidden cost here is huge: the risk of a lawsuit or a failed product launch because you missed a key patent. * Trap 2: Poor Search Tools Mean Wasted Time (The Data Graveyard) You have access to millions of patents, but if the search and analysis tools are weak, your team gets swamped. The hidden cost is valuable labor time wasted sifting through irrelevant documents because the tool can’t filter precisely. * Trap 3: Poor Support Means Wasted Fees (The Underutilized Tool) You pay a lot for advanced features (like AI or a complex query language). If your provider offers poor training or inaccessible global support, your team won't use those tools. The hidden cost is simply wasted license money and low efficiency. The Solution: A successful tool must bring all three areas together to protect your business. (Advertisement) One good tool : Questel Orbit Intelligence is designed to solve these problems by providing complete Data, powerful Search tools, and the necessary Support to use them, turning your investment into a competitive edge. #PatentSearch
