  • We’re honoured to share some of our latest innovations aimed at enhancing workers’ safety. It was a truly insightful exchange on a topic that matters deeply to our entire industry. A big thank you to the Construction Industry Council for consistently organising such meaningful initiatives. The recognition inspires us to keep raising the bar and collaborating with industry partners to make construction safer and smarter.

𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆. Safety is not just about equipment—it’s about culture, collaboration, and commitment. Led by Mr. Kevin O’BRIEN, Chief Executive of Gammon Construction Limited, our Chairman, Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Mr. Ken NG, Director - Industry Development of the CIC, Mr. PUN Ka-keung, President of Hong Kong Registered Contractors Association, Mr. CHU Tat-chi, Managing Director of Hip Hing Construction Company Limited, Mr. Patrick KWAN – Executive Director and Mr. Norman CHAN, General Manager (Project) of The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd. (HK Electric), were shown innovative safety measures, including real-time fatal zone monitoring cameras, thermal sensors for instant alerts and Remote-controlled demolition robots. While these technologies impressed, what truly stood out was the software of safety— people. As Ir Michael TONG, Construction Manager, and Ir Kahl CHEUNG, Senior Building Services Engineer explained, clear communication and proactive planning are the foundation of smooth collaboration and safe operations. By helping the team understand the why behind safety, compliance becomes second nature—not an obligation. Every team member embraces safety as a shared responsibility. The visit concluded with an insightful exchange of technical and management best practices. Ir Prof. HO commended the project team’s outstanding performance and commitment to raising industry standards. Together, we are building a safer, smarter future for construction.

  • ♻️ Turning demolition waste into low-carbon building materials? We’re making it happen. As the main contractor of Tomorrow’s CENTRAL, Gammon is proud to support Hongkong Land Limited’s bold sustainability vision by tackling one of construction’s toughest challenges: recycling tempered and laminated glass. We partnered with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University  to pioneer a first-of-its-kind solution—transforming glass waste from curtain walls into low-carbon concrete partition blocks for reuse on-site. “This commercial-academic partnership not only demonstrates how innovation and collaboration can drive meaningful industry-wide change, but also powerfully reflects the spirit of our sustainability strategy, ‘United Ambitions’.” — Kevin O’Brien, Chief Executive, Gammon Construction This pilot sets a new benchmark for circularity in Hong Kong’s construction sector—and we’re just getting started.
