Semicon Europa 2025 highlighted just how complex and competitive the global landscape has become for Europe’s semiconductor industry. Strengthening competitiveness will require decisive action across organisations, disciplines and delivery models. Directors Andreas Zeus and Willie Aherne joined our partners Silicon Saxony at this event, showcasing Linesight’s experience in project controls, cost management and consultancy for high-tech industrial and semiconductor projects. For fab construction, alternative delivery frameworks and contracting strategies can unlock the full potential of local construction ecosystems and, depending on the project profile, help balance risk and reward more effectively. Advanced, integrated project controls then provide greater transparency across all disciplines and stages, empowering owner teams to act proactively, make informed decisions, and keep projects moving with confidence. Linesight works with semiconductor manufacturers to address these challenges and deliver facilities that meet the demands of this rapidly evolving sector. Connect with Andreas and Willie to learn how our team supports successful project outcomes, on time and within budget. Andreas explores these themes in more detail in his recent article, which examines the challenges facing Europe’s semiconductor supply chain and the actions needed to strengthen future resilience. Time to market is now the key differentiator in data centre delivery, yet scheduling remains an underused service. Delays often stem from resourcing constraints, permitting, long-lead equipment and utility connections. In this new insight, Craig Dormer, Associate, Planning & Scheduling, and Keith Fitzsimons, Planner, examine how leading developers are managing these risks to protect speed to market. Cost assurance has traditionally been the main focus in the data centre sector. However, for many clients, the real driver of value has shifted to speed to market, getting there faster than the competition. So why is scheduling still not given the same priority, when it can be the critical factor in delivering projects on time and securing a competitive advantage? Our latest cohort of graduates recently gathered in Dublin for a focused two-day onboarding event, combining networking, learning and site visits. Over the two days, they heard from senior colleagues including Giles Heather, John O'Sullivan, Donal Blake, Richard Joyce and Alan Reilly, who shared their expertise and insights from across the business. Our Marketing team and colleagues from a range of other disciplines also introduced them to different aspects of the organisation, helping to build a broader understanding of how we work and deliver for our clients. Rachana Sudhakara, one of our 2021 graduates, also came full circle by presenting on all things Project Controls. Meanwhile, our Talent Acquisition team has been busy on the road, attending careers fairs across Europe and the Americas to meet the next generation of Linesight graduates. At Linesight, our Graduate Program offers a range of learning pathways that provide the structure and support needed to achieve your chosen professional accreditation. The AI boom is accelerating demand like never before. The question is not if we adapt - it’s how fast and how smart we do it. At last week’s WMedia Cloud and Datacenter Convention in Mumbai, Linesight’s Ameya Gumaste joined a panel with leaders from Equinix, Techno Digital, and Azbil Corporation to discuss how the data centre industry responds to surging power requirements driven by AI workloads. Four key themes stood out: · Beyond PUE: moving to TUE (Total Utilization Efficiency), a more holistic measure of IT utilisation. · AI-optimised chips to reduce energy consumption while supporting advanced workloads. · Advanced cooling solutions to manage heat and improve performance. · Digital twins to optimise power flows and test supply chain “what-if” scenarios. AI is increasing power demand, but it also offers tools to drive smarter, greener solutions. The next wave of digital infrastructure will be defined not just by scale, but by sustainability. Those who act decisively today will shape the resilient, low-carbon data centres of tomorrow. To contact our team in Mumbai click here: https://lnkd.in/eS6vCyK2

The UK’s £2billion AI growth zones initiative is more than a policy; it’s a blueprint for the future. By fast-tracking large-scale data infrastructure in strategically selected regions, this program aims to anchor Britain’s digital economy and attract global AI leaders. Delivering hyperscale projects at speed and scale means tackling grid capacity constraints, planning delays, and rising construction costs head-on. As Tony Hayes, Director - Project Management, highlights in his latest insight, build costs for data centres are increasing by 6-8% annually, driven by demand for high-spec materials and modular systems. Regions like South Wales, Teesside, East Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, and Scotland’s Central Belt are emerging as prime candidates for investment, offering grid capacity, land availability, and planning readiness. These zones could unlock thousands of jobs and billions in investment, while supporting the UK’s ambition to become a global AI powerhouse. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eVp49B6W
