Making your homes safe and pure with Qaushey Living Rugs

About us

Mission: Qaushey is on a mission to forge a future with traditional handloom techniques from the alcoves of India. We believe in preserving the rich heritage of handloom weaving and promoting it as a sustainable alternative to mass-produced home furnishings. Qaushey supports the traditional art of handloom weaving and empowers artisans by providing them with a continual source of income without the pressure of manufacturing fast. We celebrate the diversity of cultures, Heritage, and traditions that are represented in handloom weaving and appreciate the asymmetry that all these artforms bring along with them. Vision: Everyone is “YOUnique”, just like no two leaves are same. So is true for our customers and what they want from us. We want to create unique offerings for them that will belong to their personal living spaces, complementing the design aesthetics of their homes aligned to their vision of sustainability. It comes naturally to us, where we stand by our ethos to be sustainable from day one and use only the natural fibers like cotton, silk, wool and/or a mix of these. Our product line includes (but not limited to) home textiles (bedsheet set/s, bedcovers, quilts, curtains, cushion covers, sofa throws and many more), custom-made rugs/carpets and furniture. #Sustainablehomedecor #designerhometextiles #designledhomefurnishings #homefurnishings #custommaderugs #custommadecarpets #custommadebedsheets #custommadefurniture #custommade #carpetexports

  • Fun fact: 'Japandi' was one of Pinterest’s most searched design trends in 2024. Minimalism is no longer cold or empty. It’s warm, textured, and deeply personal. Enter Japandi, Wabi-Sabi, and a wave of design movements that celebrate imperfection, natural textures, and quiet luxury. And here’s the twist: these global trends are finding a natural ally in India’s age-old handloom tradition. Think about it...Japandi’s love for clean lines, Wabi-Sabi’s embrace of imperfection, and our handwoven rugs’ organic, soulful textures. They don’t just fit together; they complete each other. At Qaushey, we’re not chasing trends. We’re aligning craft with global aesthetics that value simplicity, authenticity, and longevity. Because true design isn’t about following a trend. It’s about creating spaces that feel timeless. . . #Sustainability #ConsciousLiving #Handmade #SlowLiving #SustainableHome #HomeDecor #CraftedWithCare #HomeWithQaushey #EthicalLiving #Qaushey #IndianTextile #HandmadeWithPurpose #Qaushey #ArtisanMade #QausheyInUK

  • In 2024, 60% of Indian consumers said they’d pay up to 13% more for sustainably made products. That’s not a small number. That’s a mindset shift. We’re no longer just buying a rug or a cushion. We’re choosing whether that product carries the weight of a carbon footprint… or the story of an artisan. Handmade home décor isn’t just décor...it’s slow craft, conscious choice, and culture preserved in fabric. At Qaushey, we see it every day. Customers don’t just ask 'How much does it cost?' They ask, 'Where does it come from?' Because the value of a handmade is not in the thread count...it’s in the hands that wove it. What do you look for first when buying for your home: price tag or story tag? . . #QausheyLiving #HandmadeWithPurpose #SafeForNature #WoolRugs #QausheyInUk #EcoFriendlyLiving #IndianTextile #ConsciousLiving #SustainableHome #Sustainability #Qaushey #ArtisanMade #HandmadeRugs #InteriorDesignInspo #MadeWithCare #HandmadeLuxury

  • We are excited to introduce 'Uneven Edges,' a conversation series where we bring together voices from across the Rugs, Flooring, and Raw Materials industry. This isn’t just about products – it’s about real stories, experiences, and the people shaping the way we live with design. Our very first conversation is with Steve Bakker from WoolSafe – an organization committed to protecting and preserving rugs and carpets. From care to longevity, this discussion is packed with insights for designers, industry professionals, and anyone who values rugs as an investment in their space.

Making homes Pure & Safe with Qaushey Living Rugs

Today marks a new chapter for Qaushey Living. Over time, I have come to see that our industry is a lot about human connections and stories. It is about the journeys of people and the organizations working behind the scenes to protect, improve, and give meaning to what we create. With that thought, I am introducing “Uneven Edges”, a conversation series where I sit down with people from across the Rugs, Flooring and Raw Materials industry. The purpose is simple. Real discussions, insights from experience, and a chance to understand the human side of the industry. This is most important because Qaushey Living is by humans for humans. Our first guest, Steve Bakker, comes from WoolSafe. An organization that has dedicated itself to the care and preservation of carpets and rugs. Steve's knowledge in maintenance and longevity is something valuable for everyone associated to this field. More importantly, this is for our customers to learn to care for their investments (Yes, I firmly believe that rugs are an investment like art). This is not about promotion. It is about dialogue, learning, and building the right ecosystem for our customers. A lot more is in the works, and I look forward to sharing that with everyone. Link for the video in comments.

  • 2025 isn’t just about looks, it’s about meaning. Architects and designers are stepping away from 'pretty for pretty’s sake' and moving towards spaces that have a soul. 79% of design professionals now prioritize sustainability in every project. In 2025, three words define interiors: purposeful, ethical, and personal. Purposeful means every element serves a function—whether it’s a rug that defines a space or lighting that creates a mood. Ethical means materials are sourced responsibly, supporting fair wages and reducing environmental impact. And personal? It’s about creating spaces that reflect a client’s story, not just the latest Pinterest trend.  At Qaushey, we’re seeing an uptick in demand from designers who want pieces they can stand behind. Our handmade rugs are made using heritage techniques, renewable fibres, and low-impact dyes, ticking both the ethical and purposeful boxes. And because each piece is handcrafted, no two are alike, making them deeply personal. This isn’t just good design. It’s designed with integrity. . . #SlowDecor #MadeToLast #SustainableLiving #ArtisanMade #HandmadeRugs #QausheyCollection #ConsciousHome #Handmade #CraftedWithCare #Qaushey #QausheyInSolihull #HandmadeHomeFurnishing #RugswithPurpose

  • Let’s Talk Longevity: Why Slow Décor is the New Smart Investment Fast décor fades. Slow décor stays.   We live in a world of 24-hour deliveries and impulse buys. But when it comes to interiors, the smartest trend isn’t “fast”...it’s “slow.” Slow décor is not just a style. It’s a philosophy. It’s about choosing pieces that last, in quality, in design, and in emotional value. Imagine a handwoven rug that gets softer with each passing year, or a solid wood coffee table that becomes part of your family’s stories. These aren’t purchases. They are investments. In fact, research shows that well-crafted, natural-material furnishings can outlast mass-produced items by decades, reducing your need (and cost) to replace them. It’s also a sustainability win: less landfill waste, less overproduction, and more respect for the hands that made them. At Qaushey, we partner with artisans who take weeks to weave a single piece, ensuring every thread holds quality, heritage, and durability. In a market where trends expire in six months, slow décor gives you timeless style that grows richer with age. The best part? Every item you choose today will still tell your story years from now. . . #sustainableliving #qausheyliving #qaushey #timelessdesign #mindfulliving #decorwithpurpose #handmadewithlove #slowdecor #artisanmade #handmadeinsolihull #homewithsoul #interiorinspiration

Making homes Pure & Safe with Qaushey Living Rugs

"UNEVEN EDGES" with People Who Care! It has been my pleasure and absolute honor to know a few people who have spent their lifetimes working on rugs, carpets and the associated fibers around them. Cleaning, mending, sheering, weaving, knotting, educating and so many other synonyms have become their identity. I, a new entrant into this fascinating world of rugs, have so much to learn from their experiences and yet haven’t scratched the surface. Even then, a world of knowledge I have gained by just talking to them has been life changing for me. That ensues, sharing this wealth of knowledge with the world. The most important people of the planet, our customers. It instantly occurred to me, “why not hear it from the horses’ mouth?”. One thing led to another, and here we are, prepared to bring out “UNEVEN EDGES - An Honest Conversation between people who care”. When we speak about the high standards, our conversations and eventually products, have to carry the weight of those claims. This is no flashy marketing, or chasing the buzzwords or killing the customer acquisition game. It is purely a conversation with people who care, want to make a difference and feel that there is a lot of mis selling that needs to stop in the flooring industry. I am super excited because I know these conversations are going to elicit so many more questions and stories. We are ready. Ask us more in comments, DMs, or mails to jaspreet@qaushey.com. Thank you for being part of our journey.

  • Are We Finally Valuing Craftsmanship in Modern Homes? Mass-produced "looks" good. Handmade "feels" good. And that feeling? It's finally being recognised. More people today are asking: Who made this? What’s it made of? How long did it take? Craftsmanship, which was once overlooked, is finding its way back into our homes. But there’s still a long way to go. At Qaushey, we work with skilled artisans from Bhadohi, Kashmir, Kutch, and Jodhpur, where every rug takes weeks, sometimes months. Not just to make, but to mean something. Because when a space holds a soul, people feel it. And that’s the shift we’re here for. . . #qausheystories #handmadehome #craftsmanshipmatters #luxurywithsoul #Interiordesignindia #handmade #handmadeinsolihull #qausheyhandlooms #qaushey #artisanmade

Making homes Pure & Safe with Qaushey Living Rugs

Do you want a healthier home? I do, and so does everyone who cares for their loved ones. We at Qaushey Handlooms are making your homes pure, healthier and safer with our rugs. In an industry often driven by lower costs, fast trends and faster margins, Qaushey Handlooms is chasing material excellence for our rugs that will work with their natural abilities to make homes better for quality living. Our answer came not in marketing strategies, but in values. Values that now guide every rug we knot or weave, every decision we take, and every artisan we work with. We are building Qaushey on a simple but very effective 5 point agenda for making our homes and mother earth (our larger home) safer 1. Making the Air Quality better – Our rugs are made of New Zealand wool of the best quality. It has the natural ability to neutralize air pollutants like Formaldehyde, Nitrogen Dioxide and Sulphur Dioxide. Not only these but also absorb Pollen and dirt particles suspended in the air, which is an issue in the UK and in India. 2. Be 100% Biodegradable - Pure wool is made of Keratin, a protein our hair is made of. So they biodegrade but more importantly do not release microplastics into the oceans. Our rugs are made to order, so there is no mass production. That is the first step into making us stand for sustainability. And when we do it, we do it right with the right materials to ensure it should not cost the mother earth. 3. Fire Safe - Our wool made rugs are naturally fire retardant. So, in an unlikely event if the disaster strikes, your flooring should not fuel the fire. By its natural ability, the wool rug will ensure it burns last and also release 80 times less smoke when compared to polypropylene and 10 times less than nylon rugs. Plastic and its by-products release extremely harmful gasses like Hydrogen Cyanide and Inorganic Acids. If inhaled for even a small duration, the results of inhalation of these gases are fatal. 4. Safer for Kids and Pets - Well made wool rugs are almost shedding proof. It is common to see that all wool rugs shed. But the rugs made with high quality wool shed much much less. That’s because their fibers are lengthier (upto 180mm), stronger and better made. So an unsuspecting kid or a pet will not inhale it by default and harm their respiratory system. 5. Reducing heating & cooling costs - For colder as well as hotter climates our rugs are a magical addition. Upto 10 to 20% of heat dissipation happens from the floors. Experiments in homes using wool carpets show that the electricity costs dropped by 8 to 13%, depending upon the pile height and thickness when compared with one without. We stay rooted in our beliefs and ethos. Sustainability for us, starts with no mass production and our rugs are made to connect with you. “YOUNique” “Heartfelt” “Made only for you”, making YOU special with the journey of your rug being created right from scratch. Here’s to weaving stories. There is a lot more to come, stay tuned with us

  • Why Architects & Interior Designers Are Choosing Handmade Over Factory-Made Ask an interior designer what gives a space soul, and they’ll rarely say plastic. Handmade pieces carry warmth. Texture. A human touch. That’s why more and more architects and designers are moving away from factory-made and embracing handwoven textiles and slow-made decor. Because handmade: ✔️ Adds originality to every corner. ✔️Comes with a story that clients love to tell. ✔️Offers better longevity and quality. ✔️Aligns with sustainable and conscious living values. At Qaushey, we partner with design professionals who care not just about how a space looks, but how it feels. And when every detail matters, handmade makes all the difference. #designedwithcare #qausheyforprofessionals #craftednotproduced #artisaninteriors #qausheyhandlooms #qausheyliving #handmade #craftmanship #ecofriendlydecor #handmadehomefurnishing #qaushey #qausheyinsolihull
