While agreement on the road map for #fossilfueltransition was not reached, we did see some encouraging progress 👉   ✅ Launch of the Just Transition Belém Action Mechanism (#BAM) ✅ A tripling of #climateadaptation funding by 2035 ✅ Publication of UN-GRI #IntegrityMatters checklist - to help companies align their climate reporting with UN guidance for credible #netzero commitments ✅ Declaration on Information Integrity: work to promote transparency, countering false narratives and #climatedenial ✅ Backing for two new initiatives - the Global Implementation Accelerator and Belém Mission to 1.5°C 📝 Underpinning robust disclosure & science-based assessment are GRI’s newest Standards – for #ClimateChange and Energy – which are aligned with key COP30 themes. ⚠️ We’ve updated the membership for two of our key governance bodies – including a new Chair for the GRI Supervisory Board!   Effective from 1 January, Jane Diplock AO will lead the board responsible for overseeing our priorities & strategy, as Jessica Fries stands down after 6 years’ service. ↗️ Continued progress in GRI standard-setting. Following the meeting of the #GSSB in Amsterdam last week, the board discussed & approved the following 👉   ✅ Exposure drafts for next phase of #labor-related Standards (workers' rights & protection): public comment to start in December. ✅ Revisions to align all #SectorStandards with new Topic Standards (Climate Change, Energy, Biodiversity): to launch January 2026. ✅ Publication of paper that articulates the position of the #GRIStandards in the global reporting system. ✅ Review of consultation feedback on the #FinancialServices Sector project. ✅ Progress on a project to develop new compact Sector Standards.   📥 Access the documents that were approved by the GSSB: https://lnkd.in/e4eFBV_Z

👏 We welcome that the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) will draw from the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework to develop incremental disclosures to address nature-related risks & opportunities.   This builds on our collaboration with both organizations, which includes 👉 ✅ Joint mapping and case studies to help companies disclose on nature using #GRI101 Biodiversity with #TNFD recommendations & guidance. ✅ The renewed MoU between GRI and the IFRS Foundation, which commits to coordinating standard-setting work on nature.   🤝 With the #GRIStandards already setting global expectations for reporting #impacts on nature, the addition of #ISSB disclosures on risks & opportunities can support a seamless and aligned system for #naturereporting 🌱   Read our press release to find out more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eDxDSXkV
