Es un placer ver cómo avanza la construcción del puente de Molí d’Animeta en Quart de Poblet. En Degree of Freedom desarrollamos el diseño de detalle de esta estructura, concebida como un enlace esencial entre dos áreas industriales y plenamente integrada en el nuevo parque que se crea bajo el puente. La solución busca reducir al mínimo el impacto en el entorno, preservando las acequias históricas y contribuyendo a la transformación urbana del ámbito de Molí d’Animeta. We’re proud to celebrate the achievement of José David Ortega Rodríguez, who has been awarded First Prize by the Fundación Juan Arizo Serrulla for his Master’s Thesis “Improving the robustness of Champlain Towers South in Miami”. His work focuses on studying and designing a roof-level strengthening technique that could have prevented the collapse of Champlain Towers South — and that could be applied to similar buildings to help avoid future failures. At Degree of Freedom, we’re delighted to see a member of our team recognised with this prize — a well-deserved achievement. It’s now one month since Bybrua officially opened — a milestone that continues to shape daily life in Drammen! Since opening to the public, Bybrua has been easing movement across the river, improving accessibility and adding a new public space that brings together engineering, architecture and urban life. We’re proud of the close collaboration between Degree of Freedom, SAAHA, Knight Architects, Norconsult, Asplan Viak AS, Light Bureau, Scan Survey AS and Drammen kommune, where engineering and design came together to create the new landmark for #Drammen. A big thank you to everyone involved for the commitment, precision and teamwork that made this project possible. It’s great to see how naturally Bybrua has become part of the city’s everyday rhythm. Det går unna med FLEXIWOOD TM!   I tett samarbeid med Betonmast og Flexiwood har Degree of Freedom prosjektert et nytt kontorbygg for Værste AS i Fredrikstad og med arkitektene Griff Arkitektur – levert som totalentreprise. Med Flexiwood-systemet reiser bygget seg i imponerende tempo.   Flexiwood kombinerer massivtre-kjerner og limtrekonstruksjoner fra Splitkon med Deltabjelker fra Peikko Norge AS og hulldekker fra Heidelberg Materials Prefab Norge. We’re pleased to share that Kunstsilo has been selected as a finalist in the XVII Spanish Bienal of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU). Under the theme “Flujos Comunes”, this year’s edition highlights architecture as a driver of social transformation, exploring how materials, people, energy, data and the environment interact within contemporary practice. The BEAU is an initiative of the Ministerio de Vivienda y Agenda Urbana, in collaboration with the Consejo Superior de Colegios de Arquitectos de España and supported by Fundación Arquia. Last Friday, the lighting of the Cheste Bridge was switched on — just in time for the MotoGP Grand Prix weekend. Beyond its functional purpose, the new lighting highlights the bridge’s silhouette and strengthens its presence within the landscape. The reopening of this structure marks an important milestone after the severe damage caused by the #DANA of 29 October 2024. Degree of Freedom has been responsible for the design and structural engineering, and has also provided technical support during construction to the site management led by Espai Asimètric. Winter is just around the corner. And what better way to embrace it than by announcing that Luis Ángel Blanco Roglán, Managing Director of our Valencia office, will take part in the RIF Relay 2026 – an annual relay for consulting engineers and architects, held in the legendary Holmenkollen trails in Oslo.    At Degree of Freedom, we work across #Norway, #Spain, and several other countries. Our culture is shaped by a Nordic mindset – open, collaborative, and built on trust. Joining the RIF Relay is a great reminder that teamwork and shared experiences matter just as much outside the office as inside. Although Luis Ángel Blanco Roglán hasn’t spent much time on skis, Johannes Halvorsen, Managing Director in Norway, has promised him a crash course to get him through the race — and, most importantly, to the banquet on time! It’s great to see Finansparken in Stavanger featured in the new Woodrise 2025 publication by Forestry Innovation Investment, alongside many other inspiring timber projects. Yesterday we welcomed a group of final-year Civil Engineering students from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) to our Valencia office. We shared Degree of Freedom’s design and working philosophy, with a special focus on how we integrate BIM into our projects and our approach to timber structures. Fernando Ibáñez presentó el puente de Ribarroja del Túria, un proyecto para la Diputación Provincial de Valencia en el que Degree of Freedom ha participado como proyectista y dirección de obra, junto a Espai Asimètric, INGENIEROS PROYECTISTAS IMAP CONSULTING SL, PRODEIN VALENCIANA DE OBRAS SL y PAVASAL S.A. como empresa constructora.
