  • At Heathrow, inclusion isn’t just a value – it’s an action. This November, we celebrated Trans Awareness Month, standing proudly with our trans and non-binary colleagues and communities. Thank you to our organisers, Heathrow’s Proud LGBTQIA+ Network, and everyone who joined us in learning and showing support. Some highlights of the month included: ✅ A Lunch & Learn with Bob Hughes (he/him) Partnerships Manager and former listening volunteer at Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line, to share insights on how we can all be better allies. 🏳️⚧️ We raised the Transgender flag in Terminals T4 and T2 during #TransAwarenessWeek to increase visibility in a visual way. 🖊️ An inspiring article by Isabel Chapman (They/Them), a Future Leaders Graduate, on being non-binary at Heathrow (Read a short overview here: https://lnkd.in/e57xTVwv) In a world where many still face misunderstanding or invisibility, raising awareness is not just about education it’s about fostering a culture where everyone feels seen, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Together, we’re building a workplace where everyone can thrive 💜 #TransAwarenessMonth #HeathrowProud #InclusionMatters #LGBTQIA

As a proud member of the UK’s steel infrastructure sector and Heathrow Business Coalition, 7 Steel UK welcomes the Government’s continued support for the expansion of Heathrow Airport. ✈️   We recognise the airport’s crucial role in driving economic growth across the country and supporting UK businesses.   This month, we wrote to the Secretary of State for Transport to emphasise that Heathrow’s expansion – delivered by Heathrow – represents a major opportunity not just for aviation, but for the entire UK supply chain.   Carles Rovira, our CEO, said: “Heathrow’s supply chain touches every region and nation of the UK. 7 Steel is uniquely positioned to support Heathrow’s expansion by both recycling scrap materials and supplying the sustainably produced steel essential for new infrastructure.    As the UK’s sole producer of 100% circular, low-carbon steel, we have helped build Britain’s most iconic infrastructure projects – including the construction of Terminal 5. We’re delighted to be working with Heathrow Airport, the only proposed scheme to sign the UK Steel Charter and commit to supporting employment in our sector.   Our products are nearly six times lower in carbon emissions than traditional steel, supporting a resilient UK supply chain and the transition to net zero."   What is needed now is certainty for investors, and for the Civil Aviation Authority and Government to provide clear regulatory guidance, so Heathrow can move forward. With projects like this, we’re ready to deliver sustainable materials and support a resilient, low-carbon UK infrastructure for decades to come.

We welcome confirmation from UK government that Heathrow’s scheme for a third runway at Heathrow will now be taken forward to inform the Government’s review of the Airport’s National Policy Statement (ANPS), with publication of the draft expected in summer 2026. We welcome the Government's confirmation that the expansion of Heathrow, the UK’s gateway to growth, will mean more connectivity, increased trade, improved passenger experience and a huge economic boost for the British businesses that will help design and build it. We also recognise that the scheme will need to meet the sustainability targets set out in the revised ANPS and seek to minimise the impacts on local communities.  We now await clarity from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Government on how the crucial next phase of the project will be regulated. We need definitive decisions from the CAA and Government by mid-December so that delay to the project can be avoided and we can get on with delivering this vital project for our customers and for the UK.

  • How will the #M25 be upgraded as part of Heathrow’s proposed 100% privately funded third runway? Heathrow’s video reveals the answers you’ve been asking: We build the future right next to the present. Built ‘offline’, the new section of road will be constructed 130 metres to the west of the current M25 section. In carefully planned overnight operations, traffic will be switched to the new section. This keeps construction separate from daily M25 commuters and reduces the impact on local community roads, while allowing Heathrow to build the remainder of the third runway and remove the old M25 section. Explore the full method in the video below ⬇️ and learn more about the proposed plans ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eTgZccMP #expandingHeathrow #Heathrowexpansion

Thank you to the Association for Project Management for naming Heathrow’s Asset Management and Compliance (AMC) Programme the 'Programme of the Year 2025' at the annual #APMawards🏆 AMC is Heathrow’s largest capital investment programme, focused on renewing and maintaining the airport’s physical and technology infrastructure – from rail tunnels to runways, toilets to terminals, and pavements to passenger escalators – all while keeping a live airport running smoothly. With 75% of the programme now in flight, we’re on track to deliver over 40 tranches of work and invest £5 billion to keep colleagues and customers safe, maintain critical operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. The judges praised AMC for setting a benchmark in programme management at scale, blending strategic foresight with operational precision, and highlighted innovative delivery models such as squads, rolling lifecycles, and robust governance. They concluded: “The AMC Programme is a compelling example of programme management excellence with replicable impact across the industry.” We’re also proud that Heathrow’s Southern Runway Project was highly commended in the 'Sustainable Project of the Year' category, showcasing how sustainability can become embedded in organisational culture and evolve into something extraordinary.
