👏 Big congratulations to our Aspire Firestone Academy and Aspire Centennial College Preparatory Academy teams! Both schools were recognized by Innovate Public Schools as two of California’s Top Schools for successfully closing opportunity gaps for Latinx and Black students. Out of 9,158 schools statewide, only 550 (just 6%) earned this distinction. 🌟 We’re proud of our Aspire Public Schools Los Angeles educators, scholars, and families whose partnership and dedication make achievements like this possible every day. 💜 #EquityInEducation #AspireScholars

We’re proud to celebrate Aspire’s Chief Financial Officer, Michael Wimbish, who was recently named CFO of the Year by the San Francisco Business Times!👏 Michael’s leadership shows how thoughtful financial stewardship can expand opportunities for Aspire scholars and strengthen our communities. This recognition is especially meaningful as the awards celebration also benefitted Larkin Street Youth Services, an organization that provides housing, education, and support for young people experiencing homelessness. Together, these efforts remind us that when we invest in youth, we invest in our collective future. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gxEfmBtW

Amid a nationwide teacher shortage, Aspire Public Schools Los Angeles is proving that strong, equity-driven pipelines can make a difference. In a recent EdSurge article, Aspire LA Executive Director Christopher Carr Ed.D shares how partnering with Alder Graduate School of Education helped build an internal teacher residency program—boosting retention from 60% to 90%, especially in high-need areas like special education. Even more impactful: a focus on antiracism and intentional recruitment has doubled the percentage of Black teachers across the region in just a few years.
