Geez. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse for Cracker Barrel, the CMO goes on record saying they're doubling down, their values haven't changed, and this is gonna be great for the brand. She then showed this... Now, I used to work on Denny's years ago, and I can tell you this is Denny's playbook 101. Or maybe it's IHOP's playbook... or maybe it's Red Robin's playbook... Aw crap, they all look so much the same, who the hell can tell the difference. AND THAT'S THE POINT. You all just took away what little difference you actually had. This whole thing is dumb as a box of rocks.

Most of you know me as: → The brand guy → The business owner → The one deep in positioning, strategy, and growth But here’s what else is true: → I’m a husband → I’m a dad → I’m a normal guy who loves biking, good coffee, and long conversations with my wife that have nothing to do with work When I’m not helping founders build brands that scale, I’m doing things like: → Watching my son Finnegan crush his powerlifting goals → Cheering on Estelle as she rides horses and makes her own clothing (yes—she’s that cool) → Getting a front-row seat to Rowan’s gymnastics flips in the living room and at the gym All three of our kids are creative in their own way—and it’s one of the best parts of our life. And this year, my wife and I finally checked something big off our bucket list: ✅ Australia. A trip we’ve been dreaming about for years. Absolutely worth the wait. It reminded me of something important: Building a business is great. But building a life—that’s better. Sometimes it takes stepping away to remember why you’re building in the first place.
