Last week, our AVP of care management, Claire Rodehaver, spoke about the impact the CareSource Culinary Medicine and Nutrition Program has had on the Dayton community and the importance of healthy eating and disease management. 💜 Healthy eating and lifestyles are key to managing diabetes, high blood pressure and other conditions, but many people face barriers such as physical limitations, lack of knowledge about nutrition and limited cooking skills. By creating innovative ways to empower our members to take control of their health and remove barriers, we’re helping people live healthier lives. That’s why we launched the CareSource Culinary Medicine and Nutrition Program and continue to provide creative solutions for our members and communities. #CareSourceOH

Supporting local food pantries and distributions helps ensure our communities have access to the food they need to be healthy. That’s why 125 CareSource team members volunteered at The Foodbank, Inc.’s food distribution last week in Dayton, Ohio. Together, we distributed healthy, fresh food to more than 1,800 households. 🍎🥗🍽️ Our whole-person approach to care, including increasing access to food, has one goal in mind: to create brighter, healthier futures for our members and communities. 💜 #CareSourceOH

Exciting wins for the Ohio CareSource JobConnect Program! JobConnect provides essential employment assistance to adults enrolled in Medicaid and helps individuals prepare for the job search, obtain employment and succeed in the workplace. In 2024, program participants earned an impressive aggregate amount of $3,727,294 within the year. Here are some of the highlights of the program’s impact on participants: 💜 $6,360 average annual earnings for part-time workers 💜 $29,456 average annual earnings for full-time workers 💜 $2,227 in average Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for participants who gained employment through CareSource JobConnect 💜 $616 average child tax credit for participants who gained employment through CareSource JobConnect Our efforts are not only helping individuals but also benefiting the state: 💜 59% of participants who found employment were estimated to have moved off the state Medicaid program due to their earnings 💜 $102,501 in estimated Ohio income tax because of the new spending emerging from CareSource JobConnect 💜 $145,747 in estimated proceeds from sales tax 💜 $3,110,462 in aggregate new worker spending 💜 $15,552,308 aggregate new spending in Ohio It’s beyond rewarding to see our whole-person approach to care see results that truly make a lasting difference in the lives of our members. We know that being healthy goes beyond just the doctor’s office. The overall health and well-being of our communities are also impacted by factors like housing, education and food. Supporting local food banks across our communities, especially around the holidays, can make a big impact. Our program is designed to support members at every step of their employment journey. We pair participants with dedicated life coaches who address health-related social barriers to employment. These coaches meet weekly to help remove obstacles related to education, transportation, childcare, and housing, empowering our members to achieve lasting independence. The East Valley Family Services’ Thanksgiving Resource Fair is an event that gives Nevadans access to Thanksgiving turkeys and sides. At this event, our Nevada team shared information about CareSource and how we prioritize providing Health Care with Heart while also distributing CareSource-branded bags. Our bags helped more than 100 attendees carry their turkey and Thanksgiving sides home, just in time for the holiday. 🦃 Together, with other community-first, mission-driven organizations, we aim to bring positive change for Nevadans and make their Thanksgiving brighter. 💜 #CareSourceNV
