  • It was just a week ago we were all together for The Communications Network's fabulous #ComNet25. The sense of community was palpable, the knowledge sharing unparalleled and the fun was exceptional. We were so grateful to everyone we saw, caught up with and with whom we roamed the halls of Meow Wolf Denver! While we're all back in the office this week, we couldn't help but share our personal behind the scenes snaps of the week. We're so appreciative of Sean Gibbons and the ComNet team for their tireless effort to make this such a wonderful community gathering.

  • Good news incoming. We're thrilled to announce that today, Chaloner is officially launching our reimagined approach to talent partnership and search work. Over the last two years, we’ve been quietly expanding our search model to help our clients advance their mission and execute searches that complement our deep expertise in mission-driven work. It’s been exciting to work with our partners not only on communications searches but to support hiring for their teams across development, partnerships and program work, government affairs, human resources and in the C-suite on executive roles. And so today, we’re making it official. Chaloner will focus solely on mission-driven search and advisory work, across all capabilities and functions, ensuring that our partners have the right people to deliver impact and do the most good. We’ll expand our focus and expertise in these areas: - Philanthropy - Charitable Organizations - Educational Institutions - Certified B-Corps - Membership Organizations - Cultural Institutions - Faith-based Organizations - Service Providers - Public Sector So what does that mean for you, our incredible and talented network? More exciting searches with a mission behind the work. Expanded capabilities to advise you on building the most sustainable and inclusive teams. Partnership across all levels of expertise - from C-suite leadership to your very first hire. This is such an exciting moment - for us, for the mission-driven space and for what it means to partner on this work during such uncertain times. Let us know how we can support you and continue to be your trusted partners, for good. A Few thank you's from our fearless CEO, Amy Segelin. None of this would have been possible without some key partners. First, thanks to Amanda Roy, my thought partner and co-leader on all of this work. Thank you to Michael Patino for all of your search insights and business leadership - you know so much about the search space and for that I am grateful. Thank you to our partners at BX Studio Design and Jake Maccoby for your support in making this version of Chaloner come alive. And finally, thank you to the team Jenn Saldarelli, Beth Kitzinger, Nina Angeles-Costa, Elizabeth Houde and finally our newest edition Jaimie Cohen. We’re doing this together and I couldn’t think of a better team to make this dream a reality. https://lnkd.in/eKmmddZv

  • We love this smart and optimistic take on Mission-driven hiring from Amy Segelin.

Hiring for the Mission-Driven space? Your timing couldn’t be better. In a moment when the economy feels unpredictable, the country feels so unsteady and the wider world is evolving at an astronomical rate, mission-driven organizations have continued to grow. Nonprofits and philanthropies are still hiring – and not just filling roles, but actively seeking professionals with specialized skills that can accelerate overall impact. It’s a clear signal that the future of hiring has become more focused on what you can do and less about where you’ve worked. At Chaloner we’re seeing this happen up close. From policy communications to fundraising, and from partnerships to HR, the demand for talent has never been stronger. The trend we’re seeing is clear: the future of hiring is increasingly skills-based. Organizations want specialists who can bring real expertise to the table, whether that’s digital marketing honed in the corporate world, AI deployment experience, or deep policy knowledge. There’s another shift happening, too. More talented professionals are seeking a chance to make a sustained impact in one place. That combination, a talent market that values skills, and candidates looking to grow and contribute to making change, creates an incredible opportunity for people considering a move into purpose-driven work. Ten years ago, a major nonprofit might have hesitated to hire someone from the private sector for a big campaign. Today, that expertise is often exactly what organizations are seeking. Mission-driven organizations are eager to bring in new perspectives and specialized expertise from fast-moving markets to provide fresh perspective and new thinking. So here’s my optimistic take: if you’ve been thinking about making the shift to a mission-driven career, the timing has never been better. Your skills are needed, your experience is valued, and your impact can be immediate. And if you are building your team, the assessment is the same. Now is the time to determine what skills you can add to your organization, from candidates you otherwise might not have considered, passing them over for a tried and true nonprofit background. It’s a perfect moment to help build the future of purpose-driven work.
