Dunaway is proud to have provided civil engineering and planning and landscape architecture services on the recently rehabilitated Henry G. Madison Log Cabin. Located in Rosewood Park in the City of Austin, Texas the log cabin sits on a hill, just in front of the historic Dolores Duffie Recreation Center Built about 1863 at 807 East 11th Street, it was the homestead of Henry Green Madison (1843-1912), a policeman and farmer, who resided there with his wife Louise, and their eight children. In 1968, the log structure was donated to the city of Austin and now serves as an exhibit dedicated to the black heritage of the City. 📸 : Dunaway's Sr. Project Engineer, Mike Mullone (he/him) at the project site. #civilengineering #planning #landscapearchitecture #austin

Exciting news in Austin! Yesterday, Hill Country Conservancy and Austin Parks & Recreation celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Violet Crown Trail’s new steel “zero” trailhead archway. Dunaway is proud to have provided #civil engineering services for this 2-acre entry park and Violet Crown Trailhead in Zilker Park, which features an ADA-compliant trail system, an open-air pavilion, an overlook deck above Barton Creek, rain gardens for sustainable stormwater management, and preservation of heritage trees and native landscaping. Partnering with Hill Country Conservancy, City of Austin Parks and Recreation, and TBG Partners, we’re excited to help create a welcoming gateway to one of Austin’s most beloved trails. 📷 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘉𝘎 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴

Last week, members of Dunaway’s Planning + Landscape Architecture team – Philip Neeley, Arron Law, Anita Beard, Brad Moulton, ASLA, and ELIZABETH McILRATH JARRELL, PLA, ASLA – had the honor of presenting at the DFW Park Directors Association. Their session focused on how Dunaway partners with cities to spark creative, community-driven park solutions and how we use dynamic visualization tools to help bring the “big idea” to life, making concepts tangible and accessible for both city leaders and the public.🌳 We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, share expertise, and continue advancing thoughtful park planning across the region. #Parks #Planning #LandscapeArchitecture #DFW #ParksandRec

🧩 Running a city is like solving a massive jigsaw puzzle – roads, pipes, buildings, parks, and people all interconnect. GIS is the puzzle master that helps bring clarity to complexity, fitting those pieces together, so decisions are based on the full picture, not just one corner. In our latest 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 insight, we explore how Dunaway’s GIS solutions empower municipalities to manage assets, plan growth, and make data-driven decisions. From digitizing infrastructure data in the City of Duncanville to supporting future budgeting in Coryell County to facilitating strategic planning in New Fairview – we’re helping communities connect the pieces for smarter, more sustainable development.
