As we recognize and support World Hepatitis Testing Week, ECMC was well represented recently at the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) Conference in Washington, DC. Joining Dr. Tony Martinez, ECMC’s Medical Director of Hepatology were Cellina Ciotoli, Hepatitis C Nurse Navigator, Emily Przybyl, PA and Scott Springer, PA. Scott is the Chair of the Hepatology Associates Committee and an Emerging Liver Advanced Practice Provider Awardee. Scott presented a panel discussion on Hepatitis treatment. #hepatitis #HepTestWeek

ECMC today announced that Terrace View Long-Term Care Facility has again been recognized on Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 list. This prestigious award, which Terrace View has received in six consecutive years, is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Of the approximate 600 skilled nursing facilities that operate in New York State, 93 received this recognition for 2026. Congratulations to Dr. Michael A. Manka, Jr., President of ECMC’s Medical Staff and an attending ER physician at ECMC, for being named a 2025 New York State Emergency Medicine Unsung Hero by the New York State chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians! Over his decades of service in Emergency Medicine at ECMC, including serving previously as Chief of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Manka has made numerous significant contributions to ECMC, including playing a pivotal role in the design and construction of ECMC’s state-of-the-art Trauma and Emergency Department, which was opened in May 2020. Well done, Dr. Manka!!!
