"I do this because it’s the right thing to do — and hope that it inspires others. You can never give too much." —Denis, a Michigan resident and DoorDash Dasher who delivers Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan food boxes to the local community through #ProjectDASH.   For seniors, individuals with disabilities, or anyone without access to reliable transportation, food in grocery stores, even when nearby, can feel like a world apart. That's why since 2023, Ford Philanthropy has teamed up with DoorDash to support ProjectDASH and help bridge the 'last mile' and ensure fresh food reaches those who don't have access to reliable transportation.   Through our partnership, DoorDash and Ford have helped power more than 10,000 deliveries, estimating more than 400,000 meals across Southeast Michigan.   Read more from Ford Philanthropy's Alex Buznego on From the Road: https://lnkd.in/gpSB5jEU

This Thanksgiving season, Ford Philanthropy is announcing an investment of $4 million to support fresh food access, with a dedicated focus on mobile food programs at over 20 local food banks and community organizations in Ford’s U.S. plant communities. More than 2.3 million households live over a mile from a grocery store and lack personal transportation.  While we know Ford cannot remove these barriers all on our own, what we can do is use the strength and expertise of Ford to do our part to close that last mile to ensure fresh food reaches those who need it most. #FordBuildingTogether

    Executive Chair, Ford Motor Company

This past Sunday, thousands of Ford employees came together to officially open Ford’s new World Headquarters. I was there with my children and grandchildren just like so many other multi-generational Ford families.     Our new headquarters is a stunning facility that finally puts our designers, engineers, technology teams and leadership together under one roof at the center of a walkable campus. The headquarters is new, but our address will remain the same, One American Road. Our commitment to American innovation is stronger than ever.    I am proud that Ford Motor Company continues to boldly renew itself to compete and win in the future while holding fast to the values that have defined us for more than 123 years: taking care of our communities, taking care of our country and taking care of each other.

  • “One of the best parts of my role is getting to see our work up close,” says Ashley Priskey, human resources director and business partner for Product Development. “There aren’t a lot of companies where I’d get to go on a test drive as part of my day.” Ashley says she recently visited the Allen Park Test Lab and in addition to the driving experience, she got to see firsthand the rigorous testing Ford’s vehicles undergo. “Experiences like that help me be a stronger HR partner, because I understand the work and the people that drive our success.” She started her career elsewhere, but coming to Ford recently felt like it was meant to be – Ashley’s grandfather, Peter Hines, worked at Ford for over 30 years at the Utica Trim Plant. “I also have cousins that work here, so there’s a strong family connection to the company. Being here now feels like I’m continuing that legacy in my own way.” Despite her familiarity with the company, Ashley was still “pleasantly surprised by how innovative and people-focused Ford is. I expected a traditional corporate environment, but instead found a culture that really values collaboration, learning, and empowering its employees. One thing you don’t see in commercials or headlines is just how deeply Ford invests in its people.” Outside of work, she and her spouse are busy parents of 8-year-old twins, Christopher and Cassie, and four-year-old Cate, who keep the house “buzzing with activity.” Ashley also devotes her time to the Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit she founded in honor of her sister, who passed away as a young adult from a rare form of kidney cancer. “We help young adults feel less alone and more empowered during one of the hardest chapters of their lives with adventure-based programs, resources and connection.” She says she is proud to carry her sister’s spirit forward in a meaningful way. Though she’s new to Ford, she sees the opportunity to make a real impact every day. “This is an incredibly exciting time to join Ford HR,” she says. “The company is undergoing a major transformation. We’re evolving so quickly while still staying true to our roots.” Ready to jump-start your HR career? Learn more at http://spr.ly/60467ilxk #WeAreFord #HRCareers #HumanResources

Have you ever seen a Mustang without the westward facing pony? My own Shelby features the iconic cobra without the pony in sight. But have you ever seen it facing the other direction, just a bust of the horse, or even with a Cougar badge? The Mustang brand is so iconic Ford doesn’t even badge it with the Blue Oval any longer. But what goes into making such a strong brand? As a graphic designer, now product designer, this question will always be core to our work. It’s more than a logo mark, it’s an identity. This week I had the opportunity to visit the Mustang Immersive Experience. I was hoping to learn more about its heritage, which I did! From the idea of a car, to all the concepts of what could have been, to all the media the Mustang has been featured in; movies (did not know the Mustang was a Bond car at one point), TV, music! I got to see the kind of imagination this machine inspired and inspires in its fans. But at one point, I just had to smile, knowing I had one for myself. The decision to get one didn’t come easy. I’m the type of person to feel guilty over reasonable treats, and this was an extravagance that I was taught one didn’t waste on themselves when there were better places to put your hard working money. But then, why does one work hard if not for the things that made them do all the work to begin with? I learned that sometimes the right decisions and the best decision are not always one and the same. Now on the other side of it all, I have no regrets. Owning the Shelby has been the best, bad decision I’ve ever made. I may have gone in with my designer hat on, to learn more about a brand that is a part of the company I work for, but I came out realizing I’m the everyday fan. While it’s fun to be exposed to the history from a designer perspective, I learned that I also live the consumer experience as well, and probably embody that side more. #cargirl #fordinfluencer #weareford #mustangimmersiveexperience

  • “I like HOW we do work at Ford. I like that we prioritize the customer experience and work through hurdles to bring innovation to reality,” says Micah Jones, senior automotive interior designer. That mindset was exactly how Micah’s team and other groups across Ford brought the ultra-versatile Flex Powered Console from sketchpad to reality. “The Flex Powered Console project is the result of a very collaborative effort between multiple groups representing design, ergonomics, user experience, engineering and business,” he says. “We started with customer research events. From there, SEVERAL designs were created and shared with sketches, digital models, or crude prototypes.” Designing components and features is complex: not only do teams take customer wants and needs into consideration, but it has to give “the most value with the fewest tradeoffs.” Efficiency, simplicity, and appearance are crucial but so is affordability. Micah says it was a “wonderful experience” working with this team because they were committed to the idea and approached the challenges creatively, and the business side understood the value and fully supported it. In addition to his technical and design skills, Micah brings his perspective as a dad and lover of any and all outdoor sports to his work. From snowboarding to motorcycle racing to kayaking and more, he can envision endless ways to use the Ford Expedition SUV and other vehicles he works on. He even finds time to share his experience with the next generation of engineers and designers: for the last seven years, he has coached a middle school robotics team. Just like the automotive world, “developing robots for competition involves engineering, strategy, programming, and a lot of cooperation.” Want to be part of the talented teams who bring innovative ideas to life? • “My favorite part about being a technician is the feeling of accomplishment when I fix something that wasn’t working right,” says Ava Keels, a current student in the Automotive Student Service Education Training (ASSET) program. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran from North Carolina, Ava had a post-military career supporting veterans and began transitioning to a new field last year. The ASSET program was a perfect vehicle to get her started on the path to reach her ultimate goal: to become a Master Technician. The ASSET program alternates technical classes with paid internships and allows participants to earn an associate degree while accruing hands-on dealership experience. She says that when she’s learning on the job, “every day brings something different, and that keeps things interesting and challenging.” Ava is also grateful for the support of the Ford Auto Tech Scholarship program for students pursuing careers in auto, diesel, or auto/diesel technology, sponsored by Ford Philanthropy and Ford Dealers. “Having a respected brand like Ford invest in my future gives me even more confidence in the career path I’ve chosen.” “I wanted a career where I could use my skills, keep learning, and do something that truly matters,” Ava says. “I also wanted a job that I look forward to going to everyday. I’m passionate about keeping people safe and their vehicles running right.” Interested in an auto tech career like Ava’s? It’s World Kindness Day, so we’re spotlighting software engineer Shanikia Little and the many ways she uses her time, energy and skills to feed the community, get people healthy through movement, and mentor the next generation of STEM professionals. As a software engineer at Ford, Shanikia spends every day analyzing systems, identifying bottlenecks, and designing smarter workflows. Through the Ford Volunteer Corps, she was able to apply those skills to help a local food bank double their impact. “While volunteering during COVID, I noticed firsthand how complex large-scale food distribution could be. That experience helped me later contribute meaningful insights to the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan improvement effort,” says Shanikia.
