We are still reflecting on the incredible evening with Sterling K. Brown and our Chairman and CEO, Orvin Kimbrough, hosted by the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. The night celebrated the launch of the Aralean Brown Older Youth Readiness Fund, created by Sterling in honor of his mother and in partnership with the Coalition. This fund is dedicated to helping older youth successfully transition from foster care into adulthood by providing the resources, stability, and support every young person deserves. Hearing Orv speak as someone who aged out of foster care himself brought a depth and honesty that moved the entire room. His reflections on stepping into adulthood without a safety net underscored why initiatives like this fund matter so deeply. His voice alongside Sterling’s created a powerful message of hope, responsibility, and community. We left inspired by the mission, grateful for the leaders doing this work, and honored to stand with organizations that turn compassion into action. At Midwest BankCentre, we believe it matters where you bank — for moments just like this. #FosterCare #Adoption #CommunityImpact #Leadership #OlderYouthReadiness #MidwestBankCentre

Tonight, I had the privilege of spending an evening at the brand-new headquarters of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition , and honestly, it was one of those moments where you feel the power of Community in the room. 💛 Hearing Orvin Kimbrough speak prophetically and passionately about his experiences growing up, followed by Sterling K. Brown speaking about growing up in and around foster care and about the extraordinary compassion of his mother, Aralean Brown, was unforgettable. Her legacy lives on in a profound way through the newly launched Aralean Brown Older Youth Readiness Fund. 🌟 This fund invests in older youth impacted by foster care (roughly 13–24), providing exactly what can transform the trajectory of someone living in poverty: 📚 Education 💼 Employment pathways 🏠 Housing support 🔧 Skilled-trade training and real-world readiness These are the building blocks of stability, dignity, and pride, and they’re the same pillars we champion every day in the trades. When a young person discovers a craft, earns a credential, and becomes part of a team, it doesn’t just change their resume… it changes their identity, their confidence, and the direction of their life. 🔨✨ At Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company, Inc., our vivid vision is rooted in creating meaningful careers and strengthening our community. Being in that room tonight, surrounded by people committed to lifting young people into their potential, felt perfectly aligned with who we strive to be. To Melanie Scheetz and the Coalition: thank you for your heart, your leadership, and this powerful new fund. To Sterling: thank you for sharing your story and honoring your mother’s legacy. And to everyone reading this — let’s keep showing up for the next generation. When Community leads, lives change. ❤️ (And yes… I got a photo with Sterling K. Brown. Absolutely a highlight. 😄📸)
