  • This week, Hillsboro Medical Center was honored to host Dr. Histake Fujii and Dr. Yoko Fujii from Yatsuo General Hospital located in Toyama, Japan. 🇯🇵🏥 Our hospital participated in an exchange program with Japan’s Yatsuo General Hospital that began in 1992 and lasted for more than 20 years.⚕️ Though this exchange program no longer exists, we are proud to continue this tradition of coming together and learning from one another in our shared mission to build healthier communities. ✨

  • Hillsboro Medical Center is proud to present the October 2025 The DAISY Foundation Awards to three deserving registered nurses who work in our Medical Surgical Unit and in Wound Care. Allison B., Suerte T. and Katie A. were all recognized by a patient as they “demonstrated care that was above and beyond.” Whether it was helping the patient manage their pain, offering a warm blanket or checking in with the patient's loved one, they all provided exceptional care. Please join us in congratulating Allison, Suerte and Katie for receiving this great honor!✨

I had the opportunity to present my research in the Quality Improvement category at the ACP Oregon Chapter Research Competition held yesterday at Hillsboro Medical Center. I was humbled that it was selected as a winner among many strong presentations. The project focused on improving how we identify and support patients without regular access to ongoing care. The idea came from real experiences and continues to grow through collaboration and feedback. Thank you to ACP Oregon Chapter and Hillsboro Medical Center for hosting an inspiring event that brought together students, residents, and physicians from across the state.
