  • We’re delighted to announce that a landmark transaction advised by our Capital Markets team has been named Market Impact of the Year at the IJGlobal Investor EMEA Awards held last night in London. This recognition highlights our work advising Barclays Bank Ireland plc and Deutsche Bank AG as active joint lead managers on a groundbreaking securitization backed by data center leases in Germany for Vantage Data Centers – the first ever euro-denominated securitization of data center assets in Continental Europe. The transaction finances four highly energy-efficient data centers across Frankfurt and Berlin, all leased to hyperscale customers. It marks an important milestone for the European market, following a strong U.S. trend and contributing to the continuing rise of green securitizations across Europe and the UK. A huge congratulations to our team: Dr. Dietmar Helms, Julian Craughan, Sebastian Oebels, Isabel Tinsley, and Emil Arca and Lauren Kimmel on the U.S. aspects, for their exceptional work on this innovative and market-shaping deal. Julian Craughan, Securitization Partner and Head of Capital Markets – International, commented: “We are proud to have supported Barclays and Deutsche Bank on such an innovative and market-defining transaction. This deal not only demonstrates the increasing investor appetite for digital infrastructure assets, but also reflects the growing importance of sustainable financing solutions in the European market.” Congratulations to everyone involved.

This year, we aligned our reporting with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework for the first time, ensuring our disclosures reflect what matters most to our people, clients, and communities. From reducing our environmental impact to strengthening opportunity and belonging across our network, we remain committed to advancing a just and economically successful society grounded in the rule of law. “While there is still work ahead, we are motivated by the progress we have made to date, and we are ready to play our part in creating a more sustainable future,” – Miguel Zaldivar, CEO Explore our full 2024 Corporate Sustainability Report at the link in the comments.

Still energized from last week's The Rise of Women's Football Event in London!   It was a privilege to co-host this inspiring event with Jasmina Čović and Rowena Samarasinhe and to represent Hogan Lovells in championing the growth of the women’s game. The conversations in the room were a powerful reminder of what collaboration can achieve, from accelerating investment and amplifying visibility to creating true pathways for the next generation of talent.   A few reflections that stood out for me: 🔹Sustained support matters; investment is only the start of the conversation. 🔹 Storytelling drives change; the power of visibility and role models are key to momentum. 🔹 Community is the engine; progress happens when we work together.   Huge thanks to my Hogan Lovells colleagues Hannah Piper, Elaine Penrose, Amelia Stawpert, Sian Owles, Caitlin Weeks, and Katie Gill for preparing and leading thought-provoking table discussions, and Roslynn Ampomah, Grace Gladdle, Sian Howes and Hannah Kaye for capturing the key insights, which we are excited to share in the coming days (watch this space!).   Thank you to True. for the collaborative space and thank you to everyone who joined us to share ideas and ambition for the future of women’s football. Events like this show that women’s football isn’t just rising, it’s redefining the game. #TheRiseofWomensFootball #HoganLovells #Sportslaw #Sportsbusiness #EqualityinSport #London #FootballCommunity

What does ESG really mean for long-term success?   At our ESG GameChangers Summit in London, Head of ESG Adrian Walker and Co-Head of Sustainable Finance and Investment Rita Hunter explored why taking the long view on ESG matters more than ever:   - “If we want long term success in business, we have to integrate ESG." - “If you don’t stand for anything there’s probably going to be a problem on the long view.” - “You’ve got to collaborate with other people. Learn from them. Move together. Then you can have some impact.” - “Remaining true to your values enables you to retain that trust that so many stakeholders put into every single company that’s out there.”   Watch the video to find out more, and follow #ESGGamechangers for our final video instalment next week.
