📲 Here's a real example of what supportive mentoring can look like in practice. Students don't always reply right away, especially during stressful weeks at school. What matters most is the steady presence and the calm, judgment-free check-ins that help them feel seen and supported. Use this as a model for your next outreach to your mentee: ✔ low pressure ✔ validating ✔ encouraging ✔ focused on listening, not fixing Small messages can make a big difference. These are the messages that matter. #MentorshipTips #MentorDevelopment #MessagesThatMatter #StudentSupport #iMentor

About us
iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. Since 1999, iMentor has connected more than 30,000 students with mentors. In the next 5 years, iMentor will scale to serve even more mentor-mentee pairs. In New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay area, iMentor partners with public schools to ensure every student in the schools receives a mentor. Across the country, iMentor provides nonprofit partners the tools to run their own high-impact programs in the iMentor model. This includes a technology platform, a research-based curriculum, and program analysis tools. iMentor has been recognized through funding by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and the Robin Hood Foundation, and is a subgrantee of the federal Social Innovation Fund. iMentor is one of the most innovative and quickly growing organizations of its kind in the country. As a team, we are mission-focused, results-oriented, passionate, and fun. And we’re proud to have been named one of the Best Nonprofits to Work For by Opportunity Knocks and The Nonprofit Times.

⭐ Last night, we joined Jessica McCormack at their new Madison Avenue boutique to celebrate a partnership rooted in generosity and connection. Throughout this holiday season, Jessica McCormack is donating 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 from their Christmas crackers to support iMentor's work - helping students build the relationships and guidance they need to navigate their futures with confidence. If you're near Madison Avenue this month, it's worth stopping by to experience their beautiful holiday installation and learn more about how this collaboration is supporting students. We're deeply grateful to the entire Jessica McCormack team for their commitment to opening doors and igniting possibility for young people in NYC. 💙 #iMentor #Mentorship #NYC #HolidaySeason #CommunityImpact

💙 We're honored to be named one of Goldman Sachs' 2025 Community Development Champions. At iMentor, we see every student's education as the first step toward lasting opportunity and success. And with partners like Goldman Sachs, we're empowering students to build pathways to college, career, and long-term success, strengthening communities one relationship at a time. Thank you for recognizing our work and commitment to creating a brighter, more joyful future through mentorship. #CommunityDevelopment #SocialImpact #Mentorship #EconomicOpportunity #GoldmanSachs
Economic opportunity doesn't happen by accident. It takes organizations willing to do the hardest work: affordable housing in neighborhoods others overlook, coaching entrepreneurs through their first loan, building financial stability one family at a time. Meet our 2025 Community Development Champions: 30 nonprofits across New York, New Jersey, and Utah that are working to create economic opportunity. They're supporting a projected 250,000+ people and 5,000+ businesses. Many have been at this for over 50 years. They know their communities, and they're driving real change. Congratulations to you all. #CommunityDevelopment #SocialImpact #EconomicOpportunity https://lnkd.in/e8-_pxdM Anthos|Home Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake BRICK Networks Brooklyn Public Library Community Development Corporation of Utah Cooper Square Committee DataKind DreamYard Project Utah Black Chamber Food Education Fund Guadalupe Center, Inc. iMentor LISC NY Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, Inc. 💙 Every student needs someone who sees their potential before they see it themselves. For Nazrun, that person was his mentor, Khwaja. When first-generation college student Nazrun met his mentor Khwaja through iMentor NYC, he found someone who helped him build confidence, community, and connection. Even though Khwaja is a busy CEO of his company, Nazrun can still count on him to pick up his phone calls. “He will make time for me. He’s showing me that I could really trust him,” Nazrun says. 🔗 Become a mentor and change a life today: https://lnkd.in/dgqmpsj #MentorshipMatters #iMentor #FirstGenStudents #CareerGrowth #NYC

At iMentor, we open doors and ignite possibility, one mentoring relationship at a time. This week, iMentor Baltimore had the incredible honor of partnering with Business Volunteers Maryland for the annual Turtle Tank competition, Baltimore’s very own version of Shark Tank! Going up against eight amazing local nonprofits, our team brought passion, purpose, and the power of mentoring to the stage. We’re thrilled to share that we WON FIRST PLACE and $9,000 for iMentor Baltimore! We couldn’t have done it without our amazing GIVE fellows, who represented iMentor with heart and authenticity: Catherine van Ogtrop, Courtney Campbell, Olu Oduola, CPA, Tyler Joyner, MBA, Tyler R. Sanders, Rosslyn Green This win isn’t just about a pitch – it’s about what happens when mentorship opens doors, confidence grows, and possibility comes alive for Baltimore’s young people. You can join iMentor Baltimore’s mission by becoming a mentor! This is what happens when community, endurance, and mentorship intersect. When mentor Bryan Baratian laces up for the TCS New York City Marathon, he’s running for opportunity. For the students who dream bigger because someone believed in them. For the mentors who show up week after week to guide the next generation. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Citizens chose to honor Bryan and iMentor, represented by our very own Parice Megan Grant, with the Citizens Miles That Matter award this year. The recognition comes with a grant from the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation, which strives to improve the lives of our fellow citizens through building partnerships with public, private, and community interests to develop neighborhoods and stimulate economic renewal. As Rebecca O'Connell, New York Metro Market President at Citizens, shared: “Bryan’s story and iMentor’s mission embody the resiliency that defines New Yorkers and captures why the race is so special to the city.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eY2regu6 #CitizensMilesThatMatter #iMentor #MentorshipMatters #CommunityImpact #NYCMarathon
