Ashley Callen, Co-Chair of the Congressional Investigations Practice, co-authored an article for the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance examining the evolving M&A antitrust enforcement landscape and regulatory challenges facing dealmakers. Ashley and her co-authors from H/Advisors Abernathy and Timothy FitzSimons of King & Spalding provide insights to clients navigating the new administration and the political landscape more broadly. The authors provide recommendations for navigating the new political landscape including planning ahead for likely issues by self-auditing workplace and culture programs, testing acquisition targets for antitrust risks in advance, adapting communications strategies for today's media landscape of podcasts and social media, engaging proactively with Congress, and understanding how sensitive issues travel online. On November 15, Partner Megan Poetzel and Associate Sara Stappert accepted the Iranian American Bar Association - National (IABA's) Pro Bono Award on behalf of the firm. The IABA presents its Pro Bono Award annually to recognize a law firm that has provided outstanding pro bono legal representation. Jenner & Block’s dedication to fierce advocacy extends to all its clients. Each year, our lawyers contribute thousands of pro bono hours, using their skills to expand access to legal services. In 2023, Jenner partnered with the National Immigrant Justice Center to represent a client who fled Iran after facing political persecution for converting to Christianity. As a result of this work, our client was granted asylum in the United States. This case, along with many others, demonstrates Jenner’s commitment to dedicated advocacy and expanding access to justice. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gGKb7q8q Photograph by Jack Simpson Photography

In a recent Law360 article, Partner Meghan Greenfield shared her insight on federal agencies with environmental responsibilities using AI tools. The Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Interior and the Department of Energy have said they may use AI tools in areas of their work, most notably in speeding up permitting and rulemaking processes. “AI is promising, but it requires a lot of oversight.” “There are real questions about agencies’ ability to provide that, given how many staff have left.
