Larimer County government serves all residents and businesses through stewardship of numerous community resources, infrastructure improvement and maintenance, planning services, transparent public records, human and economic health initiatives and broad community-wide public safety services. The County has a rich agricultural and western heritage that is reflected in our commitment to a high quality of life and preservation of our natural areas. Larimer County is located in north central Colorado. It is the seventh largest county in Colorado based on population. The county extends to the Continental Divide and includes several mountain communities and Rocky Mountain National Park. The County encompasses 2,640 square miles that include some of the finest irrigated farmland in the state, as well as vast stretches of scenic ranch lands, forests and high mountain peaks. Over 50% of Larimer County is publicly owned, most of which is land within Roosevelt National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park. In addition to these federal lands, Colorado State Parks and Recreation Area, Larimer County Parks and local parks within urban areas combine to provide a wide spectrum of recreational opportunities that are enjoyed by both residents and visitors.

  • Larimer County is located in north central Colorado, encompassing 2,634 square miles and a population of about 371,000 residents. It is known for its lovely geography (Rocky Mountains, rivers, foothills), year-round outdoor activities (300 days of sunshine!), Colorado State University, and welcoming communities. The health department’s Senior Emergency Preparedness & Response (EPR) Program is actively engaged in collaborating with government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, technological failures, manmade crises, public health emergencies, and acts of terrorism. The Program also manages a new branch of the Rocky Mountain Medical Reserve Corps, and oversees the Health & Medical Services Branch (HMSB, formerly known as ESF-8) in the Larimer Regional EOC during disasters. The Senior EPR coordinator will also be responsible for direct supervision of 1 employee.   • Larimer County Engineering Department is seeking a Construction Inspector with experience in road and bridge construction to provide contract management and inspection of capitol projects for the Larimer County Fairgrounds complex and throughout the County. The Larimer County Engineering Department is responsible for surveying, engineering design and construction management for infrastructure capital improvement projects at locations throughout the county. The staff of 38 deals with development review, floodplains, stormwater, asset management, traffic engineering and land acquisition. In addition to work related to the county road and bridge system we collaborate with and provide support for projects with many other county departments. These projects range from designing and managing the construction of phased closures at the county operated landfill to designing and overseeing the construction of trails and campgrounds for our Natural Resources Department. For this position, we are seeking an innovative, experienced, self-motivated Construction Inspector to join our Capital Improvements group. The Construction Management group consists of eight members comprised of Construction Managers and Inspectors that work together and with the Engineering staff to deliver construction projects in the field. They are responsible for a wide variety of duties including daily inspection, documentation, contract management, as well as schedule review and implementation. The typical schedule for this Limited Term position is 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Anticipated to be 5+ years. The candidate can expect the hiring pay rate to be: Construction Inspector I is $28.27-$33.92 (Hourly).
