Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2026 went live last month and I'm deep in travel planning mode for next year. Two thrilling callouts for me in this year's list. 1️⃣ Lonely Planet Journeys! Half of this year's Best in Travel picks are bookable through our boutique travel planning service. (I could talk F-O-R-E-V-E-R about our multigenerational Costa Rica trip through Lonely Planet Journeys. One of those trips that gets better with every memory of it. Just ask my kids and their grandparents!) Love that we can offer this service of memory-making to Lonely Planet's community of travelers who mean so much to us. 2️⃣ A beautiful list built on the true travel of our team and contributors. One that celebrates once-in-a-lifetime trips alongside the perfect next weekend getaway. We know everyone loves a bucket list moment but we love just as much being out in the world next month - seeking connection and joy through sensory experiences that restore you. https://lnkd.in/eGbku2NS

Back from an incredible week in London with the Lonely Planet Partnerships team at World Travel Market! World Travel Market (WTM) London First time at this huge event, felt like stepping into a global bazaar — a whirlwind of culture, color and connection. In just a short walk (or a frantic dash between meetings), you can pass an entire continent’s worth of tourism boards, catch live music, sample local food and drink, spot a celebrity… even admire a perfect replica of King Tutankhamun’s funeral mask. What a fun industry to be part of. For Lonely Planet, WTM is all about connection — catching up with the many tourism organizations we collaborate with each year through advertising, sponsorships and major activations. A highlight this year was celebrating our Best in Travel 2026 winners at the National Portrait Gallery on Wednesday night. Huge thanks to everyone who met with us — can’t wait to do it all again next year.

I'm excited to be heading back to London for World Travel Market this week with the team from Lonely Planet! We're ready to celebrate our Best In Travel winners and meet with new and ongoing partners. I will be kicking off the week at Travel Massive's Innovation Night on Monday and am speaking on a panel Monday evening to share how how Lonely Planet is evolving our beloved brand to meet the needs of modern travelers. Let me know if you're in town and attending WTM. It'd be great to see you! If you missed our Best in Travel 2026 list, check it out here... https://lnkd.in/eMqmiQC6 Thanks to Matthew Gardiner for including me in the panel!

Super proud! Today, we launched Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2026 - an exciting day for our Lonely Planet team and the world of travel. https://lnkd.in/g-5pzhNh Every year, Best in Travel celebrates the ultimate destinations and experiences for the coming year. It’s a true labor of love — the result of countless hours of research by our editors across the globe and brought to life through incredible new photography, immersive videos, and inspired storytelling. And for the first time, nearly half of this year’s picks can be booked directly through Lonely Planet Journeys, our new travel planning service that pairs travelers with award-winning local planners to see the world through authentic, on-the-ground insight. It’s another way we’re helping travelers turn inspiration into reality. Our best-selling, Best in Travel book is now on shelves around the world, the winners are announced across our digital channels, and our team is sharing their insights https://lnkd.in/gQPtJU_f For me, Best in Travel is a reminder of what Lonely Planet does best -- connects people to the world and to each other. And of course, check out the book.... https://lnkd.in/gBS77yj8

Lonely Planet's reel (filmed and narrated by yours truly) on Australia's Red Centre is a finalist in the Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards for "Best Travel Video." 🎉 There's a good editor behind most award-winning articles and, in the case of social content, that remains true. So much of the credit goes to talented social team who worked on this, including Deepa Lakshmin and Di Li. 👏 Thanks to the judges, sponsors Bunnik Tours and the ASTW Awards Committee. Big congrats to co-finalists Jeremy Drake and Lisa Burns! Award winners will be announced next month. Watch it here: https://lnkd.in/gZK_-2hq

Carrie Bradshaw could never!! This photo shoot may be in New York City, but the book covers the world over. Lonely Planet's Women Travel Solo is a collection of essays from brilliant women, including yours truly (*hair flip*), who pack their bags and go go go when and where they want: lnkd.in/ehaW9aaW Massive thanks Zayira Ray, Rhianydd Hylton, and Pia Peterson Haggarty for capturing my good side and Rebecca Hunt and Bailey Freeman for copyediting. A dream project for me!

  • We were thrilled to work with Travel Manitoba for a *third* time to highlight the very best things to do in this fun Canadian destination. Maybe you want to see the world (and its wildlife, like polar bears and bison). Maybe you want to rest and restore. Maybe you just want to get outdoors, grab a bike and hit the trails. No matter what, Manitoba's got you covered 🇨🇦 Take a look at the link below! https://lnkd.in/eqJAFNXm Want to work with Lonely Planet? So much exciting stuff coming from the Lonely Planet Ultimate Guide to Summer campaign, including this sponsorship with one of the places I'd most love to visit, Anchorage AK. Over at the hub for this campaign there's a whole hot season's worth of inspiration, our fantastic new guides for key destinations and much more, all wrapped up in some of the first fruits of our new look. You might need to put the Undertones on repeat. https://lnkd.in/eDRqu2Ns
