Capital High School’s new Performing Arts Center is the centerpiece of a major campus upgrade in OLYMPIA SCHOOL DISTRICT, designed as both a school resource and a community hub. Located for maximum accessibility, the free-standing facility supports student performers and welcomes public use, without disrupting the main school. Alongside the new center, campus-wide improvements include modernized mechanical systems, re-roofing, and contemporary cladding that enhances energy performance, weather protection, and school identity. 📸Doug Walker #PerformingArtsCenter #OlympiaSchoolDistrict

Home to state-of-the-art environmental, structural, thermal engineering, materials, and CAD modeling labs, Saint Martin’s University's Cebula Hall also features flexible classrooms, an engineering library, and administrative offices for faculty and the dean of the Hal and Inge Marcus School of Engineering. Despite its advanced capabilities, the building achieved LEED Platinum certification at an impressively low cost. Designed as both a facility and a teaching tool, the compact three-story structure integrates informal learning spaces and showcases its own engineered systems. Exposed structural, civil, and mechanical elements throughout the building promote transparency and serve as real-world examples to enhance classroom instruction. On the top floor, students access a rooftop lab equipped with dual-axis solar panels—providing a hands-on opportunity to study solar orientation, energy production, and tracking technologies in action. 📸 Lara Swimmer
