We’re proud to be one of nine Feeding America food banks to receive a new delivery truck from Darden Restaurants – an incredible gift that strengthens our ability to serve Marylanders. 🚚❤️ Through a generous grant from the Darden Restaurants, Inc. Foundation, with support from Penske Truck Leasing, the Maryland Food Bank has received a new 26-foot refrigerated truck. This vehicle will help us safely move thousands of pounds of fresh, perishable food to communities facing the greatest need across Maryland. We’re grateful to Darden Restaurants, the Darden Foundation, and Feeding America for their shared commitment to ensuring every family has access to nutritious food. We were honored to join the Baltimore Ravens last week as they hosted a Thanksgiving meal distribution at the Ravens Boys & Girls Club in West Baltimore. 💜🦃 The Ravens and Safeway teamed up to provide turkeys and traditional side dishes, together helping 250 families bring home a holiday meal to enjoy. During the event, the Ravens also presented us with an incredible $20,000 donation to support our work. 🌟Employee Spotlight: Say hi to Ashley McCray, Inventory Control Lead, Halethorpe Ashley is MFB’s inventory control lead, which means she makes sure all inventory in the Halethorpe building is accounted for. She helps to make sure counts are correct so that product can get picked and shipped out to Maryland communities. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Ashley has lived in Baltimore for 25 years. While her favorite food is seafood, especially crabs, she’s a great cook who makes the best fried chicken and roast beef in Maryland. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Ashley!
