  • For NICU nurse Jenn Mann, caring for the tiniest patients isn’t just her professional calling — it’s part of her own story.    Jenn has been with Novant Health Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital since graduating from nursing school, finding purpose in helping fragile newborns grow and thrive. But three years into her NICU career, she found herself on the other side.    During a routine scan at 35 weeks, providers discovered an issue with her daughter’s bowel that required surgery the day after delivery. Even as a NICU nurse, Jenn felt the shock, fear and uncertainty every parent knows in moments like these.    What carried her through was trust in her team and the comfort of knowing her daughter was exactly where she needed to be. Jenn’s daughter spent 10 days in the NICU — short compared to many, but an eternity for any parent. Jenn saw firsthand how her team shows up not just clinically but emotionally, holding space for every feeling and every unknown.    Today, her daughter is a happy, healthy four-and-a-half-year-old.    That experience changed Jenn as a nurse. She has always cared deeply for her patients and families, but now she understands their fear in a way she never could have before. She makes it a point to slow down and truly listen to them, knowing it makes a difference.

  • Even doctors sometimes put their health needs on the back burner. When Dr. Robert Beam realized he’d gained a significant amount of weight and had ignored a suspicious mole for years, he decided to make a change and it may have saved his life. Now 50 pounds lighter and cancer-free after a Stage 1 melanoma diagnosis, Dr. Beam is sharing his story to encourage others to make time for their own health. https://lnkd.in/eN2NBcU2

  • At Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, the neurocritical care unit has many patients who often cannot speak for themselves. Under the leadership of Dakota Haraldson, nurses are trained to detect subtle, nonverbal cues — from changes in vital signs to small shifts in motor function — ensuring timely interventions and personalized care.    https://lnkd.in/gbriEqJT

  • Every act of generosity touches a patient's life. Our team knows this firsthand and witness that difference every day. Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association for delivering high-quality, coordinated care for patients experiencing heart failure and stroke. A big thank you to Michael Jordan for his generous $10 million gift in honor of his mother, Deloris, which will allow our rural patients to get advanced care closer to home. • Every corner counts! This season, Clemson Athletics' men’s and women’s soccer teams have collectively attempted 114 corner kicks. Novant Health pledged $100 for each one, benefiting Make-A-Wish® South Carolina and helping grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses in our local community. Ryan D. Lee, president of Novant Health Greenville, had the honor of presenting the donation — a reminder that each kick makes a meaningful impact on and off the field.

  • Our Novant Health team members recently came together to support the Forsyth Backpack Program — a partnership that’s been feeding local kids for seven years. 💜 This year’s impact:  ⭐ 4,800 weekend and holiday food bags packed  ⭐ 130+ team members volunteering  ⭐ 600+ cases of food donated We’re honored to support families in our community who rely on weekend food support to ensure their children don’t go hungry when school meals aren’t available.
