At the 5th Annual Zeal Summit, our featured discussion, explored how the next decade will redefine venture, institutions, and economic mobility. A clear theme emerged: capital follows trust. Trust built through strong governance, community insight, and ethical use of AI as it reshapes labor markets, financial systems, and healthcare delivery. This panel grounded the entire convening, forward-looking perspective on what it takes to build enduring institutions and unlock opportunity at scale. Grateful to our partners who joined us: Chris Kay at M&T Bank, Marla Blow at Skoll Foundation, Tulaine M. at New Profit, and Michele Lawrence Jawando at Omidyar Network. Moderated by our leader Nasir C. Qadree Five years forward, we remain committed to backing founders shaping the future of #work, #wealth, and #health. #ZealSummit #VentureCapital #FutureOfLearningWork #FinancialInnovation #HealthcareInnovation #EthicalAI

We were honored to participate in the third annual Gender Equity Summit this week, hosted by California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and the California Partners Project. After a warm introduction from Governor Gavin Newsom, Omidyar Network President Michele Lawrence Jawando and the First Partner (both moms of four) discussed what it’s like to be parenting at a moment when technology is reshaping how we learn, communicate, and relate to each other; the critical role of empathy and representation in building human-centered tech; and California’s leadership in ensuring a better digital world for the next generation. Thank you to Jennifer Siebel Newsom and the California Partners Project for hosting a fantastic convening of changemakers, and for all you do to ensure the well-being of women and girls in our digital age!

  • Last week at #FTFutureofAI, Omidyar Network CEO Michael Kubzansky and SVP Anamitra Deb joined global leaders to discuss how we can ensure AI serves people — not the other way around. In his keynote conversation with the Financial TimesMartin Arnold, Mike challenged the false choice between regulation and innovation. Drawing lessons from the early auto industry, he made the case that clear rules build trust — and that trust is the foundation for lasting innovation. Later, Anamitra joined a panel with Katie Chandler (Taylor Wessing UK), Lorenzo Maternini (Fondazione Randstad AI & Humanities), and Navrina Singh (Credo AI), moderated by FT’s Murad Ahmed, to discuss how accountability frameworks must evolve as AI systems become more autonomous and embedded in daily life. We were proud to sponsor this event to help advance discussion on how AI can be governed in the public interest. Thank you to the Financial Times for convening these essential conversations!
