Did you know? 2026 US Federal Budget proposes cuts to a wide swath of lifesaving HIV prevention and care programs. In the long tradition of HIV/AIDS activism in art, SAGE and @clarehousing helped elevate the voices of those most impacted by HIV funding cuts through the creation of panels in the #CutsKill Digital Quilt. On World AIDS Day, we remember those lost to the epidemic, honor those living with HIV, and recommit to building a world free from stigma or new infections. Many members of the SAGE community are long-term HIV survivors; in fact, more than half of people living with HIV in the U.S. are aged 50 or older. 2025’s theme is “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response.” It calls for the international community to make life-saving prevention and care services accessible to everyone. This includes older people living with or vulnerable to HIV. We're grateful for folks like Ron, who have fought for the visibility of folks living with HIV, advocated for increased accessibility to AIDS testing for older adults, and shared his own story of living with HIV. SAGE is proud to fight for the health and dignity of our entire community, today and every day. #WAD2025 #WorldAIDSDay2025 #EndAIDS #zerostigma Hear Ron's story: https://loom.ly/sIwArII

We are so thrilled of this amazing partnership-everyone deserves respect at the end-of-life. Thank you to everyone for making this education happen. #education #EOL #LGBTQ+
Exciting News! International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) and SAGE are thrilled to announce a new training for end-of-life doulas supporting LGBTQ+ older adults navigating deathcare and end-of-life. This model immerses learners in the experiences of LGBTQ+ older adults, exploring cultural history, inclusive language, case studies, legal considerations, and more. Through guided learning and practical skill-building, participants gain the knowledge necessary to offer meaningful companionship, affirm identity, and advocate for dignity at every stage. "The course brings together the deep knowledge and wisdom of SAGE and LGBTQ+ elders while weaving the innovation of the INELDA Doula Approach into this curriculum. This new training is invaluable for end-of-life doulas to provide person-centered culturally-sensitive care. The collaborative training creates a foundational awareness needed for those who identify as LGBTQ+ to support their autonomy and dignity at end-of-life. We are honored to participate in this partnership," notes Omni Kitts Ferara, Director of Education for INELDA. Learn more in the press release below: https://lnkd.in/eiC7uMfh
