I'm excited to share that I am the new Chairman of the Greater Dallas Chapter-Texas Restaurant Association! 🎉 We had an incredible weekend at our board retreat at the beautiful Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg, TX. We kicked off the weekend with an amazing tour of the Garrison Brothers Distillery, hosted by Dan Garrison. We then welcomed 8 new board members: Brandon Luke, Jay Valley, Dominique Morales, Robert Roder, Janie Burkett, Amy Phillips, Richard Thomas, and Shane Lovell, giving them an in-depth orientation about our association. The rest of the weekend was spent working in committees to solidify our Program of Work for the year. A special highlight was our team-building old-fashioned making contest, made possible by our fantastic sponsors: Lux Ice (Nicholas Crouse), Toasted Simple Syrups (Matt Thornton), DEHY Garnishes (Bruce Smith Jr.) and of course, Garrison Bros. bourbon. We even had Dan and his team judging the contest—what a fun way to wrap up the weekend! This weekend would not have been so successful without the help from our ED Corey Mobley, staff Skyler Mobley, my vice chair Tim Williams, and treasurer Blake Johnson. I’m truly honored to serve as the chair of such a talented group of restauranteurs and restaurant partners in the DFW area. If you’re not involved with this incredible community, you’re missing out.
