The 2025 edition marks an important milestone, bringing together 114 projects from 20 countries in the live jury stage. Finalists showcase bold, sustainable, and contextually responsive design across the Completed Buildings, Interior Design, and Future Projects categories, reflecting a strong focus on urban regeneration, cultural and educational spaces, social housing, and adaptive reuse.

From Central and South-Eastern Europe to Central Asia and the Caucasus, the Awards Ceremony celebrates the architectural energy shaping a region in transformation. It is a moment dedicated to the voices, ideas, and visions that push boundaries, reconnect communities, and rethink the built environment across some of the world’s most dynamic emerging contexts. This year, the Gala Dinner is offered by Zumtobel, who also proudly host both the Main Event and the Awards Gala at the Zumtobel Light Forum in Dornbirn. 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. As an essential member of both the Design Board and the Management Board at Foster + Partners, he helps guide the practice’s global projects and plays a key role in shaping its creative direction. His journey began at Cambridge University, where he studied under the legendary Sir Leslie Martin. Immediately after graduating in 1969, he joined the London Borough of Merton, contributing to one of the country’s first Middle schools—an early step in a career marked by innovation and public responsibility. Sustainability remains one of his strongest areas of interest, informing both his practice and his global design perspective. Beyond his architectural work, Spencer de Grey is deeply engaged in shaping the discourse of the profession. He lectures internationally, serves as an architectural advisor for the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kew, and leads the Building Centre Trust as chairman. He has been a visiting lecturer at the Royal College of Art and chaired the Cambridge University School of Architecture Advisory Board, later becoming Visiting Professor of Architecture between 2010 and 2011. In 2008, his contributions to architecture were recognized with his election as a Royal Academician.
