Protecting California (& beyond) by equipping fire sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire-life safety knowledge.
About us
Symons Fire Protection, Inc. is a full-service Fire-Life Safety company located in San Diego County serving Southern California. Our services include consulting, design, installation, inspections, certification, and 24-hour emergency services for both fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Established in 1993 by Dave Symons and future business partner Tod Emery, Mr. Symons took pride in establishing a company that specializes in being Responsive, Resourceful, and Reliable. Sadly, Dave Symons passed away in June of 2008 but left a legacy that was carried on by Tod Emery who served as President until his retirement in 2019. At that time, Tod transitioned the company to Jamil Shamoon who advanced from the role of VP and has taken the helm as President to lead the organization and team into a new and bright future. Today, Mr. Shamoon has continued Dave Symons’ legacy by building a company that has become one of Southern California's finest Fire-Life Safety contractors. Symons Fire Protection is currently active in many respected industry organizations such as NFPA, AFSA, BIA, SCTA, HCC, BBB, NAA, and more. Symons Fire Protection has partnered with the most respected manufacturers to bring the highest quality components into every system built, including Honeywell, Reliable, Viking, Lubrizol/Blazemaster, Victaulic, and Tyco (earning the title of Premier Contractor through their Rapid Response Program). One of the company’s biggest and most impactful successes is in its people. Symons Fire Protection is a company that is known to care for people. This is evidenced in many ways and has helped attract some of the best talents in the San Diego market and beyond. It is also part of the passion that Jamil brings to the company every day. Whether you are looking for a fire protection contractor or a new career, you can count on others to place Symons Fire Protection at the top of the referral list - where a friendly team member will be waiting to take your call!

We had an amazing time today at San Diego Trades Day at Palomar College Our team, including Recruiter Michael Johnson SHRM-CP and Head of Training and Safety Jonathan Joseph, enjoyed demonstrating our work and talking with potential candidates interested in the trades. It’s so important to be out in the community, connecting directly with students, youth groups, and schools to show them the rewarding career paths available in construction and the skilled trades. Thank you to the Construction Industry Education Foundation for hosting this fantastic event! We’re proud to support the future of the industry and encourage everyone to #BuildACareer in the trades. #SanDiegoTradesDay #ConstructionCareers #SkilledTrades #Community #WorkforceDevelopment

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for the "Open for Construction: How to Win the Bid" Building Industry Association of San Diego event at our corporate office! With Halloween being tomorrow we want to remind everyone of some fire safety! The NFPA reports an annual average of 832 home fires started with decorations, with 47% being too close to a heat source and 33% starting with candles (2019-2023). Follow these quick tips to prevent a fire hazard: Costumes: Avoid long, trailing fabric. Make sure masks have large, clear eye-holes. Candles: Use battery-operated candles or glow sticks in jack-o'-lanterns. If using real candles, keep them far away from anything that can burn. Decorations: Keep dried flowers, cornstalks, and paper away from light bulbs, heaters, and open flames. Exits: Keep all escape routes clear of decorations. Alarms: Test your smoke alarms!
