  • Our school held a special ceremony in honor of Veteran's Day. We are thankful to our wonderful families and friends who have served and continue to serve our country--we are so grateful for you. We also enjoyed a special performance from one of our very own Rhoades family members--and a proud veteran--who shared a beautiful violin performance with us. We say thank you to all who have served and continue to serve.  #VeteransDay #Education #Ceremony

  • Celebrating Diwali at The Rhoades School We had a wonderful time celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, across all grade levels—including our Preschool! A heartfelt thank-you to our parents for sharing this beautiful tradition with our students through hands-on crafts, storytelling, and meaningful cultural experiences. We loved learning about the values of togetherness that Diwali represents. #Diwali #MulticulturalEducation

  •  45th Anniversary of The Rhoades School! 🎉 This school year we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of The Rhoades School!  In 1980, very close to our current campus, Dr. Charlotte Rhoades Glinski and a small group of dedicated teachers welcomed the very first Rhoades School students. With her deep experience and passion for gifted education, Dr. Glinski recognized that San Diego lacked educational options specifically designed for academically advanced learners. In response, she founded the school to meet that need — and her vision continues to inspire us today. Stay tuned for more insights from celebratory events, teacher and alumni spotlights, and more as we commemorate this milestone! #Milestone #Anniversary #Education #PrivateSchool

  • The recent 3rd Annual Cultural Diversity Day at The Rhoades School in Encinitas, CA was an event to remember, beginning with a cultural performance by local Irish dancers. Next, students took part in "Breaking Bread"--sampling different breads from around the world. Bread is a staple in most cultures and takes on many different forms around the world, from tortillas to naan to homemade biscuits and much more. Breaking Bread is a way for students to come together and learn that our cultures are more alike than different. In the afternoon, students were given a passport and acquired stamps by visiting different countries (classrooms). Each classroom featured a specialty teacher hosting an activity from a different country. This year we had activities from Pakistan, Egypt, Mexico, China, Greece, Colombia, Philippines, Japan, England, Dominican Republic, and US Native Tribes. Finally they ended the day with "K-Pop and Popsicles" and danced the afternoon away listening to K-Pop music and enjoying popsicles on the field. #Diversity #MulticulturalLearning #PrivateSchool
