The Cultural Index: The Future of the Connected Experience continued in London at Angel Square, exploring how creativity and community converge in one of the city’s most vibrant cultural neighborhoods. Guests joined director, Josie Rourke whose work is BAFTA and Oscar-nominated, and Olivier-Award winning and acclaimed actress, and Islington resident, Jenna Coleman for an intimate breakfast conversation on storytelling, collaboration, and the role of culture in connected communities. Josie reflected on the link between artistic innovation and today’s technological shift, noting: “We don't think about the Globe Theatre as a piece of innovation, but it was a gigantic piece of innovation.” She highlighted neighborhood spaces like the Almeida Theatre, Sadler’s Wells, and the Little Angel Theatre as ongoing laboratories of human expression. Jenna shared a poetic glimpse of her daily walks through Islington: “It’s the sense of the old mixed with the modernity of the new… this neighborhood holds its past and its future in the same breath.” Their insights sparked a wider conversation about technology, creativity, and the future of community. Centrally located above Angel Tube Station, Angel Square sits at the heart of a neighborhood where creativity and connectivity meet. Presented by Tishman Speyer in partnership with Genesys, The Cultural Index is a global series bringing together creative and innovative voices shaping the future of art, design, and technology. Breakfast by neighborhood favorite Ottolenghi Group featured beautiful tablescapes by Maison Margaux and florals inspired by Angel Square’s terrace gardens by AMANDA AUSTIN FLOWERS LTD. The SWAROVSKI Star has once again taken its place atop the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. It’s a testament to the partnership between Rockefeller Center and Swarovski, and to the creative spirit that defines the season here.
This week, the SWAROVSKI Star was raised atop the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, a moment that marks the next step in transforming the Plaza into the world’s most iconic holiday destination. Designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the 900-pound star features 70 spikes covered in 3 million Swarovski crystals that capture and reflect the light of the Center. Our partnership with Swarovski has brought this sparkling creation to life each holiday season, symbolizing craftsmanship, innovation, and the shared spirit of celebration. We’re proud to continue this annual tradition together—and we can’t wait to see the star shine bright at the Official Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 3rd.
