Mill 19 at Hazelwood Green embodies Pittsburgh’s transformation from an industrial powerhouse to a center for sustainable innovation. Constructed within the steel skeleton of a former Jones & Laughlin Steel Company mill, the multi-phased redevelopment created high-performance office, research, and manufacturing space while preserving the building’s historic structure. Photovoltaic panels line the length of the roof, forming one of the largest solar arrays in the region, and the project achieved LEED v4 Gold certification for its focus on energy efficiency, reuse, and resilience. The Tennessee Builders Alliance, made up of Turner Construction Company, AECOM Hunt, Polk & Associates Construction, Inc., and ICF Builders Inc., has topped out the new Nissan Stadium, future home of the Tennessee Titans. This milestone marks major progress on a one-of-a-kind venue that will transform the East Bank and bring world-class sports, concerts, and community events to Middle Tennessee. The team has prioritized opportunity and inclusion at every step, with 3.6 million hours worked and nearly 100 small, women-owned, and minority-owned businesses contributing more than $110 million. Through over 120 community and workforce events, local residents are gaining new skills and launching careers in construction. Deering, Milliken & Co. Communications Building – c. 1957 In the late 1950s, Turner completed the Deering, Milliken & Company & Co. Communications Building in Midtown Manhattan. Designed by Carson & Lundin, the project involved demolition of existing structures and construction of a mid-rise office building that reflected the modern architecture of its era. Clad in stone and featuring clean, vertical lines, the facility served as a communications and administrative hub for one of the nation’s leading textile companies. You’re surrounded by resources and people who want to help. Stay humble, ask questions, and keep learning. 2️⃣ How has Turner supported your development? 📢 Through incredible mentors and peers who lead by example. While I learn a lot from my direct manager, I learn the most from my peers and the role models who’ve become mentors. Turner’s development partner model has been a huge asset in helping me navigate my career. 3️⃣ Coolest project you’ve been a part of at Turner and why? 📢 The University of Texas Hall of Fame, a museum inside the football stadium showcasing the university’s sports legacy. It was amazing seeing the project showcased on ESPN and witnessing the pride of the athletes whose accomplishments were displayed. 4️⃣ What’s your favorite local restaurant? 📢 1618 — great food, amazing atmosphere, and even better service.
