He popped into the University of Maryland Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Maryland Medical Center with peak Grinch energy, causing mischief, cracking jokes, and turning our hallways into Whoville 2.0. For the Thanksgiving holiday, our System came together to make a meaningful impact beyond our hospital walls. Across Maryland, teams from community hospitals helped distribute 3,000 Thanksgiving turkeys to community partners, churches, patients, and families, supporting our neighbors during a season when rising costs make access to healthy food more challenging than ever. A special thank-you to University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and WJZ | CBS News Baltimore for leading this year’s effort. Their partnership helped bring this initiative to life and strengthened the support we can extend across the communities we serve. As an anchor institution, we know our responsibility extends far beyond clinical care. Addressing food insecurity is essential to improving overall health, and efforts like this Thanksgiving distribution reflect our commitment to Maryland families, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. We’re grateful to every team member and community partner who helped make this season a little brighter for thousands of families.
