What started as a simple idea by Community Outreach Manager Mary Levy has grown into the Baby Closet at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, helping hundreds of local families access essential baby items, like diapers, car seats, and pack-and-plays. Because at UM Charles Regional, care extends beyond our walls — it begins with compassion for our community. That's a better state of care. #UMMSProud #CommunityHealth #UMCharlesRegional

BREAKING NEWS: The Grinch did not steal lunch… but he did steal every snack, selfie, and spotlight in sight. He popped into the University of Maryland Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Maryland Medical Center with peak Grinch energy, causing mischief, cracking jokes, and turning our hallways into Whoville 2.0. Our patients, families, and team members were treated to surprise giggles, dramatic poses, and more chaos than even Cindy Lou Who could handle. Huge thanks to our favorite “mean one” for making the holiday season a whole lot brighter (and a little more chaotic). #Grinch#UMMC #Holidays#UMMSProud

The Grinch tried to steal lunch… but instead he stole our hearts. 💚🎄 Today, our teams at the University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Maryland Medical Center welcomed a very Grinchy guest who brought laughter, mischief, and a whole lot of holiday cheer to patients, families, and staff. A big thank you to the Grinch, currently starring in the musical hit "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at the Hippodrome Theatre, for bringing magic to our patients and staff! More holiday joy is on the way… even if the Grinch tried his best to stop it. 😉 #Grinch #UMMC #Holidays #UMMSProud

For the Thanksgiving holiday, our System came together to make a meaningful impact beyond our hospital walls. Across Maryland, teams from community hospitals helped distribute 3,000 Thanksgiving turkeys to community partners, churches, patients, and families, supporting our neighbors during a season when rising costs make access to healthy food more challenging than ever. A special thank-you to University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and WJZ | CBS News Baltimore for leading this year’s effort. Their partnership helped bring this initiative to life and strengthened the support we can extend across the communities we serve. As an anchor institution, we know our responsibility extends far beyond clinical care. Addressing food insecurity is essential to improving overall health, and efforts like this Thanksgiving distribution reflect our commitment to Maryland families, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. We’re grateful to every team member and community partner who helped make this season a little brighter for thousands of families.
