Happy Thanksgiving from VNS Health! Ahead of the holiday, our Health Plans team hosted its annual Turkey Giveaway on November 20 in partnership with Centro Medico Dominicano. Members lined up early and were welcomed with hot coffee, donuts, and music from a live DJ, creating a warm, festive atmosphere where neighbors danced, connected, and celebrated community. With the support of NYS Senator Robert Jackson, our team distributed 400 turkeys to members, many of whom are older adults who may otherwise have gone without a special holiday meal. We’re grateful to our partners and proud to support the Washington Heights community during this season of giving. 💙

In a new Crain's New York Business op-ed, VNS Health President & CEO Dan Savitt shares how ongoing cuts to Medicare home health funding are pushing agencies to the brink and how that impacts hospitals, families, and communities across New York and the nation. If CMS moves forward with another major rate reduction, the result will be clear: fewer agencies, fewer nurses, and fewer older adults able to recover safely at home. There’s still time to act. Tell your representatives to speak up and #ProtectHomeHealthCare. https://bit.ly/4rc4eFz

What does the future of aging in New York look like? President and CEO Dan Savitt joined Frederick P. Gabriel Jr. (He-Him), Adam S. Herbst, and Dr. Mitchell Katz at Crain's New York Business Content Studio’s Future of Aging panel to discuss how providers, payers, and policymakers can work together to help older adults age safely and independently at home. From Medicaid reforms to home-based care innovations, these leaders explored how we can create a system built around people and ensure every New Yorker has one team, one plan, and one place to call. #VNSHealth #AgingWell #HealthcareLeadership #HomeCare #IntegratedCare #Medicare #Medicaid

Have you heard of our hospice and palliative care fellowship training program? We collaborate with health care systems across NYC to provide clinicians with a “hands-on” learning experience, combining clinical and home-based hospice services. These experiences include bereavement and spiritual care services, symptom management, palliative wound care, improving quality of life and more. We’re proud of the care we provide and we’re working hard to ensure that the next generation are ready to continue that quality of care for years to come. #HealthCareCareers #HospiceCare #FutureOfCare
