The Board of Directors of Viridien unanimously approved a plan to support our Chair and CEO, Sophie Zurquiyah, stepping down from her CEO executive duties at the end of her term of office at the June 3, 2026 General Meeting, while remaining Chair of the Board to ensure strategic continuity and to guide Viridien’s long-term vision. The Board also unanimously approved the appointment of Henning Berg as Group CEO effective June 3, 2026. Henning will join as COO on March 3, 2026, ensuring a structured and gradual transition to the CEO role. Separating the roles of Chair and CEO reflects Viridien’s commitment to strong corporate governance and regulatory best practices, which the Board committed to when Sophie temporarily took on both roles. Sophie Zurquiyah said: “I am proud of the Group’s accomplishments over the past eight years, which reflects not only strong leadership but also the exceptional commitment and talent of our teams worldwide.” Henning Berg added: “It is an honor to join Viridien at this exciting stage. A New Chapter for Viridien! After eight incredible years as CEO and thirteen years with Viridien, I am pleased to share an important milestone in our journey. After careful consideration, I have decided to continue serving as Chair of the Board and step away from my executive responsibilities as CEO at the end of my current term. Our Board has unanimously approved this leadership transition, reaffirming our commitment to strong governance and long-term success. As part of a structured transition, Henning BERG will join Viridien on March 3, 2026, as Chief Operating Officer, leading our three business lines. Following the General Meeting on June 3, 2026, he will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer and join our Board. Building on the strong foundation we have created here at Viridien, this new structure will reinforce our leadership framework and governance, positioning the company for sustained success. I am incredibly proud of what our talented teams have accomplished. We executed a bold strategy—becoming asset-light, strengthening our core businesses (GEO, EDA, SMO), and opening new opportunities in Low Carbon, Digital/HPC, and Infrastructure Monitoring. Despite market challenges and the COVID pandemic, we transformed Viridien, including our rebrand, and today we stand on a solid financial footing that positions us exceptionally well for the future. I am deeply proud of what we have achieved as a team and confident that Henning will lead Viridien into an exciting new chapter.
