- [Instructor] In the last video, we looked at how to separate data into sections called schemas, groups of data that have like characteristics. You were able to do this easily because you knew your data well. You are what the industry calls a subject matter expert. These are people who are relied upon for their knowledge and expertise in an area, because they have tribal knowledge that is typically not documented and is simply acquired by years of experience at a company or in an industry or position. This type of knowledge helps determine the critical next steps for knowing your data and the relationships between the data. Either as the subject matter expert or as the technical expert, in conjunction with the subject matter expert or experts, the next steps is to collect all the relevant data that is related to the project.
