- If there's anything I want you to take away from this course, it's this. Connect with the person and not the disability. Individuals with disabilities are people. And like people without disabilities, they have their own hopes, interests, strengths, quirks and dislikes. If you've met one person with a disability, that's exactly what you've done, met one person with a disability. Don't assume the next person you meet with a disability has the same preferences. Accessibility is a journey, and it should be an ongoing commitment from your company. In addition to offering accommodations to new employees and assuming that all the work is done, it's critical to ensure an inclusive environment is maintained every day for employees with disabilities.
