- [Instructor] Map visuals let us place data visualizations on geographical coordinate systems using latitude and longitude values instead of two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate systems using the X and Y axis. These visualizations, like scatter plots, represent the top layer of a map visual. Underneath the visual, base maps provide context into what the geographical area we're modeling with the data points on top of looks like. These base maps can be light or dark and show simple outlines of water and land, or they can be more complex to show details like the roads and traffic patterns. We can add other layers to maps like infographics and demographic reference layers to show details like the number of people who live in a geographic region or income per capita. Within the Power BI standard visual offerings, there's an ArcGIS map offered by the company Esri that enables us to integrate these interesting map…
