The Fair Work Ombudsman’s Post

Recently our Community Engagement team visited Central Australia to connect with remote communities and organisations, and to raise awareness about our role in workplace compliance. In collaboration with other government and community organisations including the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, Australian Taxation Office, ACCC, ASIC and Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA), we attended and hosted a range of events across the region. These events provided an opportunity to better understand the unique challenges faced by remote communities and how we can better tailor our support. We were also able to educate workplace participants about our tools and resources, answer questions about recent legislative changes and show how we work together with other regulators to support remote communities.
